Re: 600 bucks in gas this month
"Can not wait until good weather so I can start taking the 50MPG ZX-9R to work" i hear ya! i drive an old honda 65cc back and forth to work when weather permits. at 100+ mpg it offsets my gas-hog of a durango that i drive the rest of the time. unfortunately in western PA the 2 wheel season...

Re: How Many RC Cars Do You Have?
only 3 here, an edinger, a caddy, and a fiberglass rc10L. the last 2 i've had since the 80's, the 1st i bought recently for parts for the caddy. i don't know whether to flaunt this thread to her as ' see i don't have nearly enough ' or hide it from her for it's crystal ball properties

Re: my old and new gold tubs
snapped a few quickies at lunchtime , they show the original chassis, the rebuild 'mockup' , and the old body atop the mockup. the only thing missing, to get the full effect, is the quite large bud's racing wing painted orange & black, missing side dams, and attached via homemade wire - seemingl...

Re: my old and new gold tubs
"Personally, I think that there is a real appeal to trying to keep your original crazy concoction together, making whatever repairs/changes are necessary without altering the character of the build" agree wholeheartedly, but i am fearful that the back or nose will be easily crumpled and th...

Re: my old and new gold tubs
seems like it, much lighter gold than on my old caddy, a stamp on top and bottom. i'm sure most here know better than me hehe. it actually looked pretty normal with the lid on, it's what's revealed when the velcro was unleashed that was scary. I nabbed a black tub chassis ( no clue what model it's f...

my old and new gold tubs
I decided to dig out my old RC-10 to clonk around the yard and such alongside my son, who got a duratrax buggy for the holidays. I think the last time i ran it was 1991, it was torn down and stored since then. I had never contemplated how horrible my modification skills were as a teenager until i st...

Re: Tecnacraft "Nice Set of Wheels" Ad
so rather that peel the tires off of my son's evader i've decided to go ahead and order myself a nice fresh set of rims to model the outer dimensions from. I'm guessing a b4 rim would be an ideal candidate ? don't want to guess on what i think the dimensions should be, eager to put my hands , or cal...

Re: Tecnacraft "Nice Set of Wheels" Ad
My hope would be to make a few 'prototype' sets of the same flavor, a couple for me and a couple for some of you guys who have the real deal ( for feedback ).after making any changes that need done i could buzz out a couple dozen sets in a good saturday shift and appease the masses! not looking to o...

Re: Tecnacraft "Nice Set of Wheels" Ad
hey folks, new to the boards (1st post) but not new to RC10's ( bought my caddy new in the 80's ) nor machining. I am Production Manager at a small ( 10 lathes, 1 mill ) CNC machine shop and can get machining time at reduced cost for 'personal projects'. I would love to take a shot at reproducing so...
