600 bucks in gas this month
At 6'3" and 240 I love my pickup nice and roomy. But the gas is killing me. I think its time to buy a compact and wedge my ass into it .
Re: 600 bucks in gas this month
2009 Jetta Sportwagon TDI. Nice and roomy, 140hp @ 4000rpm, 240 lbs-ft @ 1750-2200rpm. (oddly enough it'll decimate most "tuner" cars out there. You know hondas, scions, etc.) I average 35mpg in town and 52 on highway.
Last month I spent $50 on gas and drove 450+ miles.
I'm 6'2" and 185 lbs. I can fit another grown man of my size behind me comfortably during a road trip. It's not a gigantic truck or full size car but it's definitely not a shitty ass little compact.
There's very little I'd give this car up for. The only gripe I have about it is it's FAIL wheel drive. It would be the most epic of all eco-cars if it were AWD or RWD.

TTMT, that's EXACTLY what my mind-in-the-gutter was thinking! I'm sure that could've been re-worded differently...

Re: 600 bucks in gas this month
I hear ya, gas prices are going to be crazy this summer. I try to leave the bronco at home as much as possible. I mostly ride my cbr 1000 motorcycle. 158 hp 0-60 in omfg and it gets 30-50 mpg depending on how much I twist the throttle.
What chaps my arse is idiots who want to artificially raise the price of gas in an effort to deter people from using so much gas.

All bs speculation. Hedge funds and investors control the price. Saudi already said they would make up the difference if the supply stopped in the conflict area. All there needs to be is some bs reason to make people think it is justified. There is no shortage nor will there be for some time.

Lol!
I don't have to worry about this much anymore. My company has supplied me with a fully maintained 2010 model AWD Ford Territory. I seriously don't even have to pay fuel when I go interstate on holidays.
Perks of the job I guess.

Yeah I don't think "fitting a full grown man in my back seat" is any better. Still better than saying "in my butt" though lol

$3.79+ a gallon for regular un-leaded in So Cal
The Jetta TDi is quite a car, I did the dealer training for most of the West Coast back in 2008. Fast, smooth and 50 mpg on the hwy
And it does burnouts

Fuel is one thing but the motorway tolls in Sydney are rediculous. For 2 vehicles on the road my previous company spent around $750 month.
