Re: Kyosho Transmission ??s
The A&L lethal weapon is still available, it has a slipper assembly and everything. I've been running a 3900kv in my PRO XL for quite some time and haven't had any issues on the stock tranny. I recommend Robinson pinions, I have a couple of Traxxas pinions and the tend to whine a bit more. You ...

Re: Kyosho Transmission ??s
I've personally ran my ultima with stadium truck tires for a long time without much troubles. But that was in the days that tracks didn't have that many and big jumps as today. There are a couple things that make a big difference between different generations of ultima gearboxes. These to me are th...

Re: Kyosho Transmission ??s
Yes I think it's all the same (pitch 48) however the differential gears might be designed a little differently and might not fit in one another's stealth tranny box. My ultima pro and sp2 are both pitch 48, however the sp2 can handle much higher speeds that will make the spur gear on my ultima pro p...

Re: Maxxum FF Video Running and Frying electronics
Gotta love those old vintage kyosho manuals that say " If you don't have a lot of experience soldering have a friend do it"

Re: Maxxum FF Video Running and Frying electronics
No offense, but I would just take that motor to a local hobby shop and have them solder it with their wire and equipment. While you're at it bring the speed controller in and have them look at it for possible re-wiring/ new connectors. They do these kinds of things all the time.

Re: Maxxum FF Video Running and Frying electronics
That's only a 19-turn motor, so either the gearing was off. Or I know this sounds weird but with some of the older battery chargers you can over charge the battery. My piranha peak battery charger once charged my trinity 7.2v NIMH to a woppin 10.4 volts where my orion charger charges it to a 9.35 av...

Re: turbo optima pinion pitch?
This topic brings up a question: How do you guys properly set your pinion gear mesh? If I remember correctly, either the Optima kit or some other kit I built came with a little strip of plastic that you'd mash between the 2 gears to properly adjust the mesh. That strip of plastic is now long gone, ...

turbo optima pinion pitch?
Hello, I took a look at my turbo optima pinion surprised to find it was a pitch 32 pinion. Is this correct does turbo optima use pitch 32? I was always under the impression it used 48p?
