Re: New Guy
Welcome aboard! RE:Jellybean wheels-An unfortunate side effect of people being fans/fanatics of the RC10 is that we drive the market on Ebay. Some nimrod gets an RC10 with goodies on it, they break it into pieces, and sell the individual pieces for as much as they can get. Why? Because people who ar...

Re: Retro hop-ups making a legend faster...
That's awesome man! I'm re-living 1987 through my old Gold Pan too, I'm hoping to get it sorted out so I can race it at my new local indoor offroad track. I used to race this in Bozrah CT on a outdoor offroad track every sunday, then during the winter would convert it to run indoor carpet at the K ...

Re: Retro hop-ups making a legend faster...

Though I wont race it, I will take it out to the track from time to time. It seem like all I do is wrench on the car, though its fun to do now a...

Re: Used Technacraft aluminum wheels...
I'm not sure I have pics but I bought some beat up old aluminum wheels for cheap that were heavily oxidized and spotty. I used scotchbright, 0000 steel wool, and the dremel to polish them to a mirror finish. Aluminum is very forgiving. You just have to bite the bullet, scuff them and go through pro...

Re: Dave145's gold pan build.
do you think the car sits too high? I tested it with my graphite and they sit about equal but it still looks like it sits a bit high for a buggy. I don't exactly remember being able to fit my whole hand under it before I rebuilt it. I think she looks great. Best way to tell is to set her on a table...

Re: Dave145's gold pan build.
She looks great! Just to give you an idea, here's an in-car vid of my Street Stock Gold Pan with the Novak GTB 4.5. 6 gear trans. I could only get about 20% throttle. With rubber tires, she had already "blown out" a set of rears so I was tiptoeing. This car n...

I believe you need troopers sister  http://i906.photobucket.com/albums/ac262/rc10johnny/100_1489.jpg Wow! That's.....really....white..... Very nice! And yes, the Technacraft wheels came from the factory(back when they were new) with a gloss finish. That's why I was so apprehensive about us...

Re: Used Technacraft aluminum wheels...
Thank you for the input! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I disassembled 2 of them. Sprayed the bolts with Hog Wash then soaked the bolts in WD40 until I reassembled them. I used Mothers on 2 of them to see how deep the oxidization goes. The Mothers didn't take it off. I'm afraid to use Scotchbrite ...

I firmly believe that RC is the mother of invention. People get REALLY creative in this hobby/sport.
