I think that clears it up. Now, I just have to decide whether to replace the chassis or refinish/re-ano the current banged up one in the photos. I'll be posting a thread on the restoration soon.
Thanks again for all the great info guys!

Re: RC10T "B" Offset
Thanks for the info guys! Marlo, just want to clarify as your two posts seem to contradict - is the inline chassis not period correct on a later 7001? Maybe you found differently after the first post...if so, thanks for the correction and please disregard! I'm a bit obsessed with the details on this...

Re: RC10T "B" Offset
Thanks for confirming Marlo. So I would think any #6301 B stamped chassis be period correct if I decided to go that route? I didn't realize there were other subtle differences like the "offline non-countersunk" battery holes you mentioned.

RC10T "B" Offset
Hey guys- I was really excited to get my latest CL find completely disassembled and ready to clean when I noticed something on the B stamp...no offset. It's not in the greatest shape, so refinishing might be in the works anyway but I'm starting to think the chassis was replaced at some point. Didn't...

Re: RC10T White Ball Cups
That doesn't sound good...thanks for the heads up on that.
I'm going to try and clean up the originals some more and see how that goes...the only originals I could find on ebay recently sold for $30 and it was incomplete set of 9!!!

Re: hydrogen peroxide, am I missing something?
H.P Freak's method here works great. I've found that only the most neglected, yellowed parts need a second round of cleaning.

Re: RC10T White Ball Cups
Thanks for the input Reggie. I'm trying to decide how particular I'm going to be on this restoration. I can't help but think I'm not doing a true restoration if they're not the parts that would have come in the kit. Maybe my OCD is getting the best of me  I have the cups that came with the truc...

Re: RC10T White Ball Cups
Thanks for confirming the fit - they look slightly different when comparing photos. The originals off the truck appear to be a sort of 1/2 hex design, the new #6279 looks like the photo below with a hex shape running the full length. As for the color, is it just too white compared to the older cups?...

RC10T White Ball Cups
Working on my #7001 restoration and can't find any original #6274 white ball cups for the project - at least not for a reasonable price  . I've searched around a bit and haven't come across any information on the parts compatibility between the original #6274 cups and the new ones (#6279). Doe...

Hope the worst is over for everyone out there. Haha....... another 5-7" coming overnight tonight. Oh man, that sucks. For someone that's only seen the snow a few times in my entire life, it's hard to imagine how that must be. We actually endured a hurricane in the early 90s back in HI, but I t...
