Re: Masami '92 JMRCA Rc10 Replica
Jason you need to get some chassis film on the underside. No sense in ruining that nice powder coat job;-)

Re: ** 2022 Vintage Off-Road Nationals - R/C Excitement Inc., Fitchburg, MA - Sept. 23-25 **
Not having jumps along the back wall will reduce the carnage drastically. I heard that double was going to be coverted to a tabletop but think it would be better if it was just reduced a bit. When I called last week to get an update on the layout they said the tweaks were going to be made this week ...

Re: A replica of a very famous RC on the track
The car was designed for rough bumpy terrain, and it excels under those conditions. On a modern track with hairpins it takes a lot of tuning work to get it to behave reasonably well. Ultimately you have to break hard to get the rear end to come around and finesse the throttle accordingly. It’s like ...

Hey Jason- how did this turn out; did you attend? I could’ve as I’ve been trying to get my ‘91 up to snuff for Vonats dealing with that front wheel issue. That track looks awesome. Funny how 1/8 scale looks like old school tracks (albeit with monster jumps) while modern 1/10 off road is like driving...

Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
This is my “Reborn ‘91 bronze edition”. Reinforced the suspension arms with fiberglass (old board for PCB with copper on one side) to beef up for hopeful VONATS trip. My local track just changed the layout to include a monster jump which is about 7-8’ across but to clear it you can easily wind up tr...

Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
Actually if i use a 3/16 x 5/16 bearing to sit in the interior shoulder of the wheel and skip using the exterior wheel bearing I can maintain stability and crank the 5-40 nut down with the use of an axle spacer. I think that solves the problem;-)

Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
... However, if steering is locked to one side and suspension is compressed/extended the ball cups inhibit the tire from freely rotating. ... But, does this ever actually happen on the track? I'd be tempted to run a few laps before making modifications. You might find that it's really not a problem...

Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
Used a new shim kit from custom works which allowed me to fine tune position on front axle so that the 5-40 lock nut could be secured with wheel able to spin freely if car tracks in a straight line. However, if steering is locked to one side and suspension is compressed/extended the ball cups inhibi...

Re: After 4-yrs...my '91 Stealth has begun
Getting my runner prepped for VONATS. I run slicks at my track and wasn’t expecting Octagons to be 5mm wider. This extra width causes issues with ball cup clearance. Re: RPM Worlds on 91 Detroit Chassis?
When you say “‘91 Detroit chassis” what exactly are you referring to? Do you mean the Composite Craft chassis which was designed to interface with RPM parts? With Kim’s (comp craft founder) passing I’m not sure whether those chassis are being produced any more so you’ll need to find an original.

Re: Video Link, July 1991 RC Offroad Race in Gainsville Fl.
Thank you everyone. I posted the video mainly due to my own searches on the web to find 80's to 90's club racing videos or like this one which was the 1991 South-East Off-Road Championships held in Gainesville, Florida, and then realized that I have VHS tapes that other racers had recorded of my ra...

Re: Difference between axles: 9755 vs 9598
For some reason this conversation has inspired me to pull the B4.1 off the shelf, install a motor, ESC and Rx and run some laps. Man, what a great car! I think handling is miles ahead of the original RC10. Is the B5 really a better car?? Good question. I own a B5 but not a B4 so I can’t say. Howeve...
