Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Traxxas long front shocks part number 4760 looks like traxxas have very resently deleted them from production but they’re still around on eBay etc. they were originally produced in blue ano then when to a light grey hard and with blue caps on the trx-1 and blue eagle onwards and more resently the d...

Re: "TRX-2" ('92 Reedy Race Inspired)

Rick Vehlow was the driver. But it's not gonna be a true replica. Screenshot_20231003_224535_Samsung Notes.jpg Edit: going with a Furatani "replica". The V-low-pro version of the TRX-1 body is kinda too expensive to reproduce. Have you thought of the team blue groove narrow trx1 body? It’...

Agama N110 - a new laydown shock system in actual daylight

Always had a soft spot for laydown shock systems on 1/10 offroad. First when it was launched on the Topcat , and later the full-blown front and rear laydown on the Tenth Technology Predator. Seen some concepts over the years ending up in the drawer, but now it seems the Agama N110 actually makes it ...

Making a vintage parts brushed frankenmotor

I came across this really cool Epic endbell and felt like it deserved to have a can and armature to go with it. The armature I selected is a 12 turn quad with welded tabs. I think it might be a Peak Performance armature, because it came from a former sponsored racer that has been a great source of m...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

got an itch to build something, grabbed a kit off the shelf. I have two identical kits, so one will be a shelfer now. This is a kit that I bought from my previous employer, I worked there in 1992-93 and this was a leftover that he listed on ebay a few years back. 20240615_222942.jpg 20240615_223044....

Re: which tools and materials are needed for a procat build?

Honestly, the main thing a Tamiya guy needs for his first Schumacher is a box of tissues  I frequent the RCKicks FB group, which is predominantly populated by Tamiya guys, and there is always a LOT of complaining about how hard it is to build Schumacher kits. Once they get them together a...

Re: Mugen Super Sport '92 buggy

The buggy is more or less completed at this point. As I only have a pair of side guards, and the muffler side needs trimming, not knowing if I would eventually change back to the conventional muffler position, I decided simply not to install the side guards for now. The body has been sent off for pa...

Re: Cougar Classic / Pro Trans / Help me with gearing?

Copy/pasting from another thread because the search feature is likely to bring folks here. The motor manual will have a target FDR for your vehicle type (2WD, 4WD, Short course, etc). Spur gear teeth divided by pinion teeth times transmission ratio gets you your final drive. For example, my motor ma...

RPM Ultra Molded RC10

After wanting one of these as a kid 30+ years ago after seeing the magazine ad, I was finally able to build an Ultra Molded buggy. Just added a few period mods but nothing too crazy. I was so tempted to add some stickers to this blank canvas, but it looks just too good to cover up. - MIP CVD's...

Essejay's CAT 2000 EC

Hello, Probably my first post in the Schumacher section  . This is a CAT 2000 EC, back from my Attic, cleaned and rebuilt with some nice parts. I never drove that car, it was my brother's car. Have a nice day, Essejay https://nsm09.casimages.com/img/2024/07/31//24073104205625345818443778.jpg h...

Re: Schumacher parts back in stock

It is about the same. At the current conversion rate Schumacher is $75 while Amain is $95. It wouldn't be worth buying just the transmission from Schumacher because of the shipping cost. I was already paying for UK shipping on a bunch of alloy seals and steering kits, so adding the transmission made...

Re: Meteor axles & restomod

Pulled it all to bits now.

got the 4x8x3 bearings ready for the gearbox, the ball raced idler gear, a 16t 32dp pinion and a spare 20 mins every few days to start the build.
