Re: Vintage Nylon Parts Durability
When I dye nylon, I get better color transfer above 140 deg F. So warmth does open up the nylon structure to fluid absorption.

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued
Yeah, I picked up several sets a while back. Well above list price but what I still thought was reasonable.
But even though I have several spares, I still try to save any that I can. I have nine Stealth transmissions, I can't just go throwing parts away.

Re: Vintage Nylon Parts Durability
I bought this. I'll strip it and soak the nylon parts in warm water for a couple of days. Hopefully it's all good. My second RC10, sold the last one in 1993. Using it for racing.

Re: Part #: 6579 (Associated Diff Drive Rings) : This item has been discontinued
I was looking into hardness a little more since my previous post. I don't think the B70 is going to cut it, even though those washers are pretty much identical dimension wise. Here's another option with C44 hardness. They are a little thinner, but these might actually do the trick. I'm no expert on...

Re: Vintage Nylon Parts Durability
I just got a new to me Cadillac A stamp and plan to do a runner as well. After reading this post, I planned on soaking the suspension and mounting parts to rehydrate them. Should I also do the gear box and rear bulkhead pieces too?
This place is an amazing resource.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

Re: Vintage Nylon Parts Durability
Yes I'd do all of it , only takes a day and it costs nothing . If it's got screws in it or under any load it's worth it .

6625, same as the 10L and six gear.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 6:52 pm I ordered a pair of RJ Speed 5752 diff rings since they were only $2.99 a set. They fit as direct replacements for my RC12L diff rings which I think takes 6579 rings.
.
The above posts are about 2.25 Stealth diffs.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2022 ** - Winner - LTO_Dave
This is my Trinity Evolution 10 box art replica that I've wanted to build since I first saw it and the magazine ad about 30 years ago. It's about as accurate as I could make it but has a few minor differences. The box art car has many small differences from a built kit, including a Losi battery cup,...

Hot Trick ‘Trinity’ Optima. This is a car I have been lusting after since seeing it as a 12 year old kid in a December 1986 mag article. It took me quite a while to source all of the parts required for this build, especially the elusive Trinity upgrades to the already hard to find Hot Trick conversi...

1 beautiful emerald green anodized RC10DS chassis, 1 awesomely detailed Tamiya Porsche 911 body, 80+ donor parts from a crashed Mustang DS, much time, lots of love, and 2 creative hands. These are the ingredients used to build this Porsche. https://live.staticflickr.com/4413/37019872620_6e017c9345_b...

Rebuilt RC10B4. Not a huge fan of the B4 body and definitely not a fan of cab forward bodies so adapted a B3 to fit
