Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Absolutely loving this thread already - having looked over that very race review many many times as a kid. Seeing that pciture of Jamie's RC10 brings back plenty of early racing memories for me. I just dug out and re-read the Model Cars Monthly race review from the '86 Euros having seen this. From w...

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Nick said he couldn't recall about the stickers as he hadn't seen them for a looooong time either, but he was willing to have a dig and get back to me if he finds one. I have since had somebody else contact me and say they will send me this though.... 82612022_10222588909526106_86722615000873...

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
Adding the bumper has made a huge difference!
Looks front-end heavy without the wing now....
Really coming along quickly.

Demon Pro King ESC
This pair just arrived through the post. Pretty rare even over in the UK, dating from 86-87. If they're good enough for Jamie Booth, then they're good enough for me

Re: Jamie Booth 1986 euro's replica
This is something else! Awesome work. What gearing are you going for on it??? I know what i run my Silver Dot at in my 2wd so interested to see what you select. Do you know what Jamie ran with? Here's another piece of the puzzle for you - going into the post to you tomorrow 8) 83656172_3186140518080...

'The Concept Car' 4WD RC10
Another unicorn has landed in my lap... this one being a genuine loft find which was discovered whilst I was actually researching the Brimod prototype car. This 4WD car was developed by MMS over in the UK (around 12months before they developed the white MMS diffs), and was raced by Jason Varley on t...

Re: Demon Pro King ESC
Well a massive thanks to bluewormx for working over these Demon ProKings for me
The first one is now fully tested, re-wired and working like a dream!!
The second needs a bit more work so I will post that up when completed.

Re: 'The Concept Car' 4WD RC10
Couple of quick updates.... mock up build to check all of the parts are there, and a painstaking sticker application night.

Re: Losi Hydradrive Conversion - Team Suzuki
From what i gather the spur gear is attached to the outer casing of the Hydradrive, the unit itself being filled with thick viscous fluid. Various fluid thicknesses can be used to tweak the set up. Within the Hydradrive unit is some sort of impeller which is attached to the shaft. The spur turns und...

Demon 2C Speed Controller - 1982
Well having hunted down three slightly different spec Demon ProKing ESC's recently I have started combing the interweb for more Demon gear to add to my small collection. Next up, I have managed to stumble upon a 1982 Demon 2C. The basic design looks to be older than God's dog, but still a pretty coo...

Re: My original CAT XL - freshly uncovered
Whilst Iain is starting the rebuild, this absolutely epic period shot of my XL popped out of the loft yesterday. This was the day i received it - can't beat an 80's Christmas morning scene, complete with gas fire, retro TV and dressing gown! You can just about make out the early rounded grey bumper ...
