Re: RC10 Factory Works C2 "Tuber" Build
I really don't have a "shop", I have a few folding tables with an old laptop stuck in the corner. My lathe is in the closet! Great artists over-come obstacles. Michelangelo had osteoarthritis, Van Gogh had epilepsy, Beethoven was deaf, Hank Williams had spina bifida occulta, Ste...

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Thank you Mr. Nomad sir.
Yeah, I'm sorta proud of that bumper.
Actually, I did countersink the bumper screw holes but just not far enough. Also, I haven't ran the screws in very tight.

Re: 2 quick CAT XLS Masami questions...
I've owned the original SWB CAT, an XL and XLS kits from bitd (i've never owned any vintage Schumacher kit later than the XLS). Today, unfortunately, many of the parts I still have are mixed together in a box and only the body and chassis parts from the original SWB car can be traced to their origin...

Re: 5 hour round trip need some info on what ive got here
on a side note anyone know the proper hardware size to attacht the rear wheels to the pan car in the background You've probably already figure this out by now but they're most likely 4-40 like the other screws in the chassis. Each wheel requires 4 of them and I think they're 3/8" long but not ...

Re: RC10 Factory Works C2 "Tuber" Build
Yeah, the cage is coming along nicely Nomad. Unlike before, I think this time the plate gusset and extra tubes are a welcome addition (adding some interest to the back of the cage). Is that hole in the center of the plate for mounting something… or would you prefer to keep it as a surprise? :D

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Well, it’s been a long road but the chassis and suspension work are complete and I’ve gotten a good start installing the electronics. I’ve chosen to leave the battery strap natural G10 rather than dying it black, so it’ll match the shock towers and provide some contrast to the other painted and dyed...

Stealth trans case ASC 6565 vs ASC 6564
I hadn't notice until today that the old style 6565 case is still available. This probably has been discussed somewhere on the forums before but I'm not able to find it. Setting aside the differences in idler gear bearing placement, is the old style case better? In other words, would replacing the k...

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Okay so just a brief update today. The body and wing are trimmed and mounted… P1010093.JPG P1010095.JPG A little extra time and attention was required to trim this one due to the truncated cut at the front shock tower. I’m planning to do something maybe a little different at the front of the body – ...

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Got the body painted today. I'm happy with how it turned out -- not perfect but I guess it's good enough for a runner.
I used some old paint I still had from bitd. I'm amazed this stuff is still good after roughly 30 years.

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Thanks Nomad. Yeah, I don't have any of the old rattle cans left but I do have about 25 or 30 of the little Pactra bottles and some have never been opened. I was thinking about throwing them in the trash last year when I cleaned the attic - just figured they were no good. I'm kinda glad I kept them ...

Re: A '91 Stealth RC10 project
Thank you Chuck. Most of the decals are applied to the body and wing so hopefully it's looking a little more like a race car now. I plan to do the final reveal of the completed car in a day or two. Yeah, so I don't fully understand their chemistry but I think the key to a seemingly unlimited shelf l...

Re: ??? Hydrographics ???
Finished the body and I must say I think it changed dramatically. Every bit as nice as I hoped. Under good lighting the paint is very fluorescent, it really pops. Some of the decals are truly vintage. Tekin , Sanyo and ProCar Racing are over 30 years old. Delta, Hyperdrive and sponsor decals are MC...
