That TA decal set is impressive! It includes tinting for windows and even the T-tops.
I don't have a Pontiac in my on-road collection.
Can no longer resist - ordering one now.
Today I finished assembling my Kyosho DirtMaster - well, the chassis anyway. I'll get around to painting the body and wing some day. I also finished this cad model: Dirt Master2.jpg Dirt Master1.jpg Dirt Master3.jpg It's pointless, I know, but I enjoy making digital models of my RC's. BTW, "Dir...
So many headlight surround decal options.
Oh wow, I just noticed the TA body set includes light buckets.
... and I just happen to have a good assortment of 3mm and 5mm leds on-hand.
I like to fit lights in my touring cars.
Those lexan light buckets don't offer a secure mount for the leds so I was thinking about using hot glue to hold them in place.
Is there a better way short of having something 3d printed?
I've gone back and taken another look at your photo of instruction sheet and decals and correct me if I'm wrong but "Trans-Am" doesn't appear anywhere. My guess is HPI wasn't able to secure the necessary license from whomever controls the trademark. As you've noted, they have given us a ve...
Ok so is the body that comes with the kit a Trans Am like AE says on their site or is it a Ford Mustang like the Fakebook Mafia swears it is? Yes. It's AE's rendition of the Mustang Tommy Kendall drove in the SCCA Trans Am series. https://gotransam.com/images/content/full/Tom%20Kendall%201997.jpg T...
Oh wow... When XLR8 asked about the lights I didn't know the body came with actual light buckets. Hats off to HPI for that level of detail. I agree; very happy to see this. :D It would have been better with actual molded plastic buckets with chrome plating, sockets and screws but as GreenBarOn is s...
I'm pretty sure all of my ESC's deliver 6v max to the Rx but I read that your JustStock can be switched from 6v to 7.4v. Could this be what blew your LED's? Anyway, I'm no LED expert and I really don't have the patience to rig a light controller so I just power all my lights from an empty port on th...

The challenge working with lacquer paints is that they dry very fast so you need to lay the paint heavy so it will flow (and avoid orange peel) BUT doing so, you increase the risk that it will bleed under the mask. You're climbing the Mt Everest of RC body painting -- don't sweat the tiny mistakes. ...
...Wonder why they did this? Because they are ugly? They don't issue a front "tag" in my state and I've grown to appreciate how clean the front of our cars look without them. When a front tag holder is provided, I'll remove it from my 1:1 vehicles. Okay, so I understand that your do...

To be honest, I've tried correcting my overspray and other paint mistakes before and it always looks worse than if I'd just left it alone. I'm not good at fixing mistakes so I tend to live with them. Anyway, clear gloss is your friend. So far, I've used it for all my hard body projects. Sanding and...
The lights look awesome! I was a little worried that a single LED in each taillight wouldn't illuminate the entire panel evenly but yours looks great -- probably due to the chrome paint you applied. I reckon you installed a red 3mm LED? Anyway, you've probably seen the Tamiya driver cockpit sets. I'...
