Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

XLR8 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 9:13 am If this happens, I believe it will be a first for AE; offering a production version of an aftermarket conversion of their RC10.
Today's AE is a different company so I guess anything's possible.
What about the centro?

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

They use the same belt, the only way to get there is to have pretty exact component locations and pulley tooth count. It's incredibly hard to get within 1.5mm on accident   That's fuc*ed. It's not like they didn't have the resources to make a novel solution. It's one thing to run you ou...

Re: Need help identifying this RC10 model

Awesome looking buggy, but with all the upgrades that buggy deserves a stealth. Unless I drill holes I can't put a stealth on it Unfortunately Someone makes a retrofit that uses rc10b6 internals but can be installed in an unmodified chassis. https://www.jcracingproducts.co.uk/vintage-wheels/vintage...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

Will Jeff get a cut of the proceeds since they stole his design? From what I understand, AE won't even give him a thank you, nor even a discount code for their kit of his own design. Chinese AE can suck on...... The folks in the US are perfectly capable of sending a formal, or at least heartfelt, t...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

I get it, I sold my soul long ago to hold down a career like many. What happened to you here sucks the big one, but I wish I could be more surprised. Business is shady 99.9% of the time whether based here, there or elsewhere. I wish someone offered me enough money to sell out. Than again I would ha...

Re: RC10GT Re Release Spur Gear Issues.

Is this going to be an issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/filLG4qLqB8?si=EFzpK8ff0L5bKm0R ? The spur gear is behaving like it is potato shaped if you look closely. Thanks in advance. Check the fit of the back of the slipper clutch on the top shaft of the transmission. This can happen when the the re...

Re: RC10T eBay purchase

Solid purchase. You did great. The tires look original. Worth a replacement I just edited this post. You'll need a battery and that is about it. It looks like the MSC is wired up to power the receiver. It'd be worth it to buy a shock rebuild kit asc 6440 and new shock oil 30 weight should be fine fo...

Re: Building with my Sons

There were a few parts i put on for him today. I changed up the nose plate from the black one to a gold one, the stock steering out for a mip setup and added a new from package rpm bumper. Though for the prices I have seen the bumper may be worth more than the nose plate.

Re: RC10T eBay purchase

My kingdom for some real servo tape!!!!! This removes old (and new) servo tape and breaks down many (non CA) adhesives, without attacking plastic or anodizing. Let the tape soak it up, then remove it with your fingers. Clean the residue with some fluid on a paper towel. Screenshot_20250315_120357_S...

Re: Should I buy one of these?

So my LHS has a sale shelf that's been growing, and recently there have been some SCT 6.4s and T6.4 Team Kits for $300 each. I hadn't been in the market for one of these, but if these are deals too good to pass on I'll grab one of them, but I'm not 100% sure. Any thoughts? If that's a platform that...

Re: ReRe rear dogbones popping out

So, like I said, I haven’t started yet so I was asking questions before hand so I was prepared when I got to that point. I haven’t opened the kits yet so I don’t even know there’s a blue washer. For the dogbones there is a spring that fits in the drive axle that helps. Additionally you want axle sh...

Re: My graveyard of carcasses has arrived

My vote is to work on the stripped out one first. The cut down one looks pretty nice. You always figure out how to do things better after the first build.
