Re: Built Or Bought
As a guy who raced pro motocross, I spent ALL my spare time practicing on technique and figuring out my weaknesses. Money could never make me faster, however a factory mechanic with a factory bike would definitely help me out. But nothing beats talent and understanding I am actually racing against t...

Re: RC10 Retro Racer
Tore the diff down - the new ceramic balls and rings were trashed. Honed the rings smooth & flat and installed some new AE carbide balls I happened to have. Now, I have been running these cars for over 30 years, but I am embarrassed to admit I never really knew how to properly set up a ball diff...

RC18R fans?
Anybody have any fond memories of these guys!? I’m guessing these have to be nearing the 20 year mark or so? I remember buying these with a couple friends way back just as bashers really. We were off work one odd day with nothing to do, my buddies wife was not home, all our kids were at school. So w...

Re: There and gone
same size but they seem (bubblier) if that makes sense. It could have something to do with manufacturer? The original DS tires were manufactured by Proline known as " Speed Hawgs ". https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51414185596_7783c15586_c.jpg The new DS tires have the Team Associated ...

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
I was looking at the manual for the re -release for the GT and the slipper was ASC 6585. I thought the GT used the 9253 part. Was that a running change? I was hoping for source of b/t3 slipper rings Original tub GT''s had the same slipper as the orginal rc10/10t/b2 with #6585 disc. The later blue p...

Re: Rere alternative battery configs - saddle packs
Whilst I'm here, I couldn't confirm the internal drive ratio on the rere either. And whilst the 15T pulley is specced, the teeth on diffs aren't mentioned, and I'm too lazy to take apart and count them - does anyone know this by any chance?

How to press in or remove RC10 Stealth roll-pin
I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times before, but this is the answer I wish I found on Google when doing my sleath. Find a vice or pair of pliers or channel locks or vice grips. Cut a slit into one end, then position the roll pin like I have here. You should be able to press the pin in no ...

Futaba Magnum Jr 3S conversion
I have six Futaba Magnum Jr's and two Airtronics Xl2p's that use the fragile and nearly impossible to find angled battery holders. Even if you manage to find one, most currently made AA's are slightly larger than those of the past. Some of the cheap "Heavy Duty" ones fit okay. Having gotte...

Re: Ballcups for 5.5mm studs
You can use the RC10 B6 ball cups. They have a longer shank, but you can mark them and cut them down to the same length as original rc10 ball cups with a dremel, or if you happen to have misc. short turnbuckles, leave the ball cups long. #ASC91722

Re: EXamples of stamped vs Milled shock towers
they are punched in a die set, and the edges will be somewhat rounded. they will seem kinda......furry. the color will be lighter, whitish. the machined edge will be nice and crisp and the edges will be pretty much same color as the base material. In the image below of two very dirty towers, the lef...
