Re: RC 101: Wheel Offset

Coming late to this party but is offset important for racing class rules, stresses on other car parts or steering geometry or all three? As offset changes the track width, it is definitely important for class racing. For most classes, there will be maximum widths that must be maintained. Wider offs...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

I wondered if it was moulded or hot pressed out of sheet. Reliant on the upper belt cover for some stiffness. On one zerda I have some metal angle reinforcers on the castor angle. I don't think they're in the manual. May have been an afterthought accessory or third party mod. Looking at the fixatio...

Re: Dimensions

Fully agree...
It would be so simple to have with each pinion, gears or other technical part a single description with the différent elements making it easy to find equivalence...

(and the same goes for tires and rims...)

Re: Dimensions

Yes, very annoying! ..especially when trying figure something out online from pics. Every piece of hardware needs the size and length shown, bearing sizes..wheels and tire sizes too.

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

thanks to threesheds , I have now some nice shocks for my Zerda :-) https://i.imgur.com/gESCvs0.jpg I put them on the car next. Apparently, It really needs a pivot ball... and Fusion 360 doesn't like my joints (I did a shortcut and did not put screws in, and apparently, it would need again something...

Re: Hirobo Zerda: from wreck to runner

The final chapter on the tamiya axle,12mmhex, double bearing conversion. After an eBay seller sent the wrong size flange head screws.... Everything fits nicely with Dadio's axle holder adapter. A lot of bearing jiggle removed. Still a bit of jiggle, some related to wear in the suspension arms and p...

Re: Hirobo Zerda: from wreck to runner

Tolerances really depend on how it's being printed , for my home stuff I usually add 0.2-0.25 mm to hole sizes for small holes , more for large holes , for Shapeways 0.1 mm everywhere. With reference to the single or twin bearings , I've never felt any need on my Zerda , Coyote or Bulldog to do a do...

Re: Hirobo Rockn City - rhyming slang or refurb.

Drill it ,drill it , drill it , my humble opinion would be to make it as original as possible.
