Re: Castor block choices
There are no turns in drag racing, so it really does not matter too much what you use. Any steering input you make during a race should be absolutely minimal. EDIT: If you are interested in how 1:1 scale drag racers setup their cars, then take a look at this: https://www.onallcylinders.com/2015/01/1...

Re: Castor block choices
30 degree blocks will give you the most srock caster, at 8 degrees to match the ds noseplate. The 30 degree blocks have no offset. So they will be any angle a kickup would be. From there, to get any more caster, you would have to flip others left to right and trim the rib off to get the travel you n...

Re: Castor block choices
whoops. yes, i meant positive caster, with the top of the spindle leaning behind the wheel as you move forward. yes, you have to trim the caster block, the rib and possibly some of the back side. though, as a dragster, you might be OK as is with just a few degrees of steering angle. you likely won't...

Re: Green parts: not just for ball cups anymore
You start with the local municipal board explaining the community benefit for relatively little cost. It's been done. There's a thread on RCtech 23 pages long right now about the issues with racing and how to solve and your idea is one of them. Common themes: 1) Too much time, most cannot give up a ...

Re: Green parts: not just for ball cups anymore
I set the right ball cup out in the Texas sun for 2 days, the left one stayed indoors. We may have hope for at least the ball cups. They are on white printing paper. Chuck If that's what results can be achieved by exposing the green parts to the sun, it looks like our UK friends miss out again... :...

My new question is what mm offset will I need to use for the HPI wheels to clear the DS suspension once I get the 12mm hex conversion done? i would like to purchase the wheels are you going to put them up in the Buy/sell...

Re: RC10LS from spares bin
Thanks Jake! The bumper and nerf wings were entirely done by hand. I just used old fashion techniques using paper and card stock to mock up the parts to see how they fit, then transferred the working pattern to the actual material. Then I used a sharp box cutter knife to rough cut the part then fini...

Re: Car#3 RC10DS “DragMaster”
That looks great, KidAgain, but with a track width that wide, and wheelbase that short, I'd be really concerned about how twitchy it's gonna steer...that's not something you'll want with a straight-line drag car.
