Re: Ok maybe it is just a tad bit over geared

Or if you're like me, look for a soldering iron that gets hotter than a cup of coffee.

I'm looking for a brand that expresses the iron's max. temperature relative to the heat from the sun. I want something that glows and melts rocks. :D

Pb Mini Mustang Survivor

Back in the late 80's I was invited to join a team from one of my local clubs to race in a Jimmy Davis-sponsored 24hour charity race at the (UK-famous) Donisthorpe track. The club was Perry Common Buggy Club and at that time, in around 1986-7 the car to have (indoors on carpet) was the Pb Mini Musta...

11.jpg 12.jpg 13.jpg 14.jpg 15.jpg Back in the day, which was slap bang in the middle of the British 'heatshrink ESC' era.... this would have almost certainly have boasted a Demon King or Proking ESC, stuck down on top of the transmission tunnel, and had a Demon red label motor powering it. These w...

Re: Pb Mini Mustang Survivor

Great car, superb period Brimod shocks and Gisom alloy wheels are a real bonus and really set the car off. I had the PB Eco as a kid and raced indoors just before getting an Optima Mid, brings back great memories, I always preferred this shell between the MM and Eco, may have to buy a Stiletto shell...

PB ECO - Reliving my yuff.

Thought I’d share a picture to the group of a Mini Mustang I had as a kid back in roughly 1989 I reckon, body was a bit different. I bought the car as a kid secondhand from a local bloke who had bought but not gotten on to well. I stripped and rebuilt the car and enjoyed using and racing at our loca...

Re: Resale profit margin

No, I'm not here to make money, more to see old cars back on the track, I do make a little money, this month I got a whole $50 from Shapeways. But it usually goes straight back in my hobby fund. :D

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread

And just like that, without me trying, I've managed to build a collection (pile?) of vintage 1/8 onroad stuff..... Can confirm...this can happen. :o grasby1.jpg Picked up this RC500 along with a Delta Eagle (still needs cleaning) a few weeks ago. I'm very much a noob when it comes to 8th scale stuf...

Re: PB ACE Shell Resto - Help

I'm thinking, paint it red, with tape stripes on the outside...... that red fogging seems pretty bad. Could mix it up somewhat, with translucent red backed with something interesting.... but it doesn't look like much chance of being able to paint light colours on the inside. Interested to see where...

Re: Any tips on reducing a collection

I am fortunate that there is a fairly large outbuilding on our property which is used primarily as a garage, but the footprint is pretty large (can take 6 cars) and the roof space above had already been converted into an office before i bought it. That space has inadvertently become my own hobby roo...

Re: Have Good News - Please post it here

I will start one off - today my wife finally got a new knee. She has been in agony with bone on bone joint pain, so this is a welcome upgrade as she puts it. :) The surgical staff were amazing and I was stunned when same day she was standing and walking with the help of a walker. It will take some t...
