Re: 1/5 scale monster truck project
Going to be running a Castle 1/5 system which is the Castle XL esc and 800kv brushless motor on 8s. That system really moves this type of truck extremely well. Bari Musawwir (Driver of the real MT Zombie) has that system in his 1/5 truck and it's just insanely powerful. Actually a bit scary to see h...

Re: 1/5 scale monster truck project
1/5 scale update. Have got a lot more work done over the past week. No idea how many hours I have into this thing yet but put at least 40hrs into it last week alone. Got the chassis about 80% done now. All attachment points like shock mounts and 4 link mounts I made captured. Center diff is mounted ...

Re: SCX24 & indoor crawling course
Got the course all covered with plaster cloth today. Stil have to cut some narrow strips to finish coating the edges tomorrow, then can start working on paint work and other scale details as well as flock the trees. The lil scx24 jeep came today so I just had to test it out 😁 Gonna be a fun way to p...

Flippin' out
What do you do when it's raining out? Monster truck backflips down in the shop! Finished this truck about 2 months ago, finally got caught up on "real work" where I was gonna take it outside and bash it, but rain & 25mph wind today  Didn't let that stop me from having some fun in...

Re: 1/5 scale monster truck project
Yeah it's a beast. Put it on the scale and it's 48lbs. Chassis will be coated yellow. The body I plan to airbrush like a pro mod style car I saw which is blue, yellow, orange, red, white so it should all tie together nicely.

Re: 1/5 scale monster truck project
Haven't had much time the past 2 weeks to work on the 1/5 scale (busy with real work stuff) but have sneaked in a few hours here and there. Found an 8" driver figure online that was the perfect size so made some racing harness, steering wheel, and other things as well as visor for the helmet an...

Monster truck jumps/flips vids (updates)
DaOtBo-3mqQ Triple backflip? Yes please lol. Sorry for poor vid quality. I gave up cell phones 17 yrs ago so I use a dig cam for vid but it's getting old. Have to buy a new one after the holidays. Well with the other truck down with gear pin issues right now I decided to get this one out and back r...

Re: What did you get for Christmas
Rc stuff was mainly parts for my lil' 24th scale scx24. Got a rock bouncer chassis, 4mm wide axles kit, mudslinger tires, emax servo, and various brass parts to make it heavier for better crawling. Also got a new set of Rc metric hex drivers. Another thing I got that isn't directly RC related but wi...

Re: What did you get for Christmas
First new RC I've purchased in a long time, and by far the most expensive! Well worth it though Matt. From the reviews and vids I have seen from the guys that got the LMT early it looks and sounds like the best RTR monster truck offered to date. With all my MT's the last thing I need is to buy a ne...

Re: Getting a facelift
Decided to give this truck a new facelift. Been a fun truck for the past year or more but was starting to show some wear & tear. So added a full set of Mike Hesse aluminum axle tubes and took them to the polishing wheel before installing them. Also polished the aluminum knuckles, aluminum bumper...

Re: New toy in the shop

Thanks. Just finished this up as well. Printed this in 18 different pieces and then put them all together. I know what you mean. I've only had mine (I bought a 2nd one now lol) for 3 weeks and I honestly have no idea how I got along without them

Re: 1/5 scale monster truck project
Well got it out for a test run. It is a beast and a half. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I am use to sensored setups in all my other trucks so its a bit "loose" feeling off the line. So I went ahead and ordered a brand new Castle xlx2 & 800kv sensored setup and some Q8s c...

Re: 3D printer for parts
I got into 3D printing about 6 weeks ago and bought two of the Ender 3 v2 printers. So not an expert by any means but I have been doing a ton of printing since and have been learning a lot about what can be done so far. Have printed a few parts for my trucks as well It really depends on what materia...
