Staten Island here
Been going to Brownies Hobbies since I’m 7 years old….
The only place for me, if John doesn’t have it you probably don’t need it
Otherwise if anything they would get it.
Ok thanks for the info guys. I am in Brooklyn and have a car so I will go check out Brownies. Also Northern New Jersey is doable if there is somewhere really exceptional to check out. I So I am hearing associated is doing mostly mail-order these days? I have been out of the game for a while clearly...
Yeah the company has a good reputation but ultimately it's going to be what AE specs out. Probably won't have the power of your old PD, those were pretty hot. Might look at the Traxxas engine if you want the power
I still use my RadioLink(s) for everything. It isn't the greatest radio on earth, but I would run it over that Traxxas RTR Rx any day of the week. https://www.amazon.com/Radiolink-Transmitter-Receiver-Crawler-Drifting/dp/B07DPNNTWT/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=W54BPOFWKW1A&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.isZ0AQ...
Just ordered the RC10GT Re Release kit. Do you guys have any suggestions for a reliable, inexpensive radio for it? I have been out of the game for a long time so I don't have a sense for what is on the market. Someone at a local hobby shop recommended this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-tqi-...
Is this going to be an issue: https://youtube.com/shorts/filLG4qLqB8?si=EFzpK8ff0L5bKm0R ? The spur gear is behaving like it is potato shaped if you look closely. Thanks in advance. Check the fit of the back of the slipper clutch on the top shaft of the transmission. This can happen when the the re...
I noticed even after seating mine the gear still rubs the arm, and I'm pretty sure I remember the original trucks were pretty close too. Shaving a very small amount from the arm fixed mine.
Trying to remember if there were thicker top shaft spacers in the GT trans? The OG trans cases allowed the thick 7669 spacer on both sides of the top shaft. If so, then you could also use the thinner 3/16 axle shims to space the top shaft a little more in.
I still like my RadioLink V2. I actually just ordered a V3 to replace it, because I am going to leave my V2 with my Infraction that I am selling. The V3 has 30 models, and the ~$17 receivers for it have gyros, which I like. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRK3RBCM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title This ...
So all that stuff is compatible? My experience has only been to buy all that stuff as a package. With minor differences in the plug shape, pretty much all three wire servos are compatible with current receivers. Everyone uses compatible wiring now. Not all receivers have the slot for a Futaba J plu...

Would the 1995ish vintage Airtronics servos that are already in the car work with the radio you recommended?
Not without changing the plugs and wiring pinout. IMHO, not worth the trouble. Airtronics didn't switch to the Z plug until later.
Those are notorious for causing problems. The spring loaded contacts can be a problem when you fasten the unit down. I would highly recommend using a proper receiver pack. These 6v rechargable packs are cheap and work well. Also don't use a switch. Just an extension. Plug it in to use it, unplug whe...
