Re: Old school Proline wheels, what plastic are they?

I have put older Pro-line wheels in acetone to remove glue and paint without any issues.

Re: Old school Proline wheels, what plastic are they?

I have put older Pro-line wheels in acetone to remove glue and paint without any issues. Do you submerge them or suspend them above in a sealed container? Two at a time, stacked in a glass container. Bottom one submerged, top in vapor area. Swap every now and then. That set of wheels was in pretty ...

It's okay, you can be both.

And just remember. Just because we're laughing with you, doesn't mean we aren't laughing at you.

Re: ** Hopelessly Incomplete Project of the Month - April 2025 **

Parma California Sport Truck. Hasn't moved under it's own power in 20 years. I did verify that everything still works. I swapped in matching Duratrax electronics and did a little work on it several years ago (battery strap and blue hardware), then lost interest again. The body has seen better days b...

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread

Any smart people here help me out with what to refer to this type of screw as? It is pretty much the opposite of a shoulder screw, as the shoulder is narrower than the thread diameter. It is one of those screws that stays in place when you remove a plastic cover / cap / top / etc (think old school ...

Re: Jconcepts JCI 10T bodies

It is still a nice body though, I use one as well. I have four of them, in addition to two of the JConcepts Team Truck bodies, and my original Team Truck body. A few years ago, I kinda went on a spree. I bought several basket case 10T's and brought them back to being somewhat presentable. I get mor...

Re: My graveyard of carcasses has arrived

The oddball is the 5-40 unlock nut for the gearbox diff nut. Custom Works RC has those: https://www.customworksrc.com/product/5-40-steel-locknut-for-topshaft/ I use these RJ Speed ones on my transmissions. They are lower profile, similar to the ones that JG used to offer. https://www.amainhobbies.c...

I've still got gold shocks on mine. I just decided to embrace the color, and went with a metallic color change paint on the car.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - April 2025 ** - Winner - GrePo

My first Tamiya ORV (I now have six), an original Blackfoot. Due to the fagility of ORV's, it clearly needed a lot of re-re parts to get it fixed. Mods: Frog skid plate and arm mounts (polished), Frogshot modded diff, re-re CVD's, 3D printed rear skid and shock mount braces, center mounted servo, an...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Built the transmission for an upcoming Traxxas based project. Hot Racing case with a rebuilt diff, Drag Race Concepts aluminum drive gear, and Hot Racing aluminum idle gear. All shimmed to reduce endplay. 20250407_185546.jpg I used an old style hex input shaft so that the old style slipper could be ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I got part of a JG SRT truck. It is missing the correct control arms and rear body mount (I have a rear tower on the way). The included rear arms are Andy's and what looks like Duratrax shocks. The tires and wheels are the foam versions. While dried out, they are in fairly good condition. 20250412_1...

Re: What are your plans with your re-release RC10T?

Has anyone on here built, seen, or dreamed of an RC10T 4wd? Is it possible to build an RC10T 4wd with a ReRe kit and a Ten4.1 kit? Is this feasible or just a dumb idea? Thanks for entertaining this old guy's thoughts 👍 Maybe a buggy with truck conversion wheels. The wheelbase would be a little shor...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I had bought what I thought was a partial JG SRT, which turned out to be a conglomaration of factory and aftermarket parts. Oh well. I had my mind set on a truck, so a truck it'll be. Just a conversion. Aftermarket Duratrax, Composite Craft, whoever graphite chassis, JG towers (repo rear) and front ...
