Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Trackmaster chassis from FTW.

Got so excited, I threw the bling trans in there within five minutes, just to find out it doesn't fit. :( The PO had widened the holes in the chassis by 1mm out and I had not noticed. Just need to come up with a plan now.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Ah dang! They just ovaled out the holes? Wonder if you could shave the inner arm mounts. I mean, we could always mess with the chassis holes too if you want. More precisely, they hacked the chassis holes oval (it mounts at the arm holes, not at the gearbox holes). The chassis would seem like the la...

morrisey0's Trackmaster Oval Car

I picked up this super rusty POS earlier this week, and have cluttered up a couple of other threads with posts about it, so to quit all that I started a thread for it on it's own. Back story: An ad pops up on FBMP for a vintage oval car a couple of hours away from me. Within 10 seconds I see a coupl...

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build

Belt driven trans / transaxle; pre and post. A bit of post work as the gear shafts came out ~10.06mm, and the bearing inner races are ~9.93, so a little filing was needed. One day I am actually going to fully calibrate my printer, but that day isn't today. :D And these modern cameras put some much d...

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build

Trans looks fantastic! How does it spin? Take some break in? It spins pretty well by hand, with no obvious bad spots. I think there is just enough play in everything that with speed on it, everything will find its happy place pretty quick and stay right there. Looking at the illustrations of the ge...

They were triplets actually. Chip never got the recognition that his brothers did, but was a heck of a driver on the local circuit.

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build

Seems a bit early to be wiring, but that is where I am. Just like 1:1 cars, the best way to clean up wiring is to just stuff it under the seats and floormats. :D

I don't think I did well with the wiring, but it can't be any worse than Lucas!

Re: morrisey0's Trackmaster Oval Car

Thanks for the tips guys! The 30* blocks I found cleaned up well enough so they will be used. I am starting to look into steering a little bit. Every pic I can find of a TM chassis seems to just show the servo taped to the front tower, and the chassis doesn't leave much in regards to places to place...

Inter-Fab Viper EX-10

I purchased this roller from a guy that I horse-trade with semi regularly in regards to RC cars. He B/S/Ts in all RC, and he gives me a buzz when he gets "vintage" stuff. These are great guys to have on your side! From a couple of cars I had gotten off him previously, and some pics he had ...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Dang Rob, seems you have a knack at finding goldmines. Very nice. I am getting to the point where I let others find the good stuff, and they hook me up! Right now, I have a pretty good network of about four guys, who are within two hours of me, in four different directions, and if/when they find ol...
