Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - May 2023 ** - Winner - morrisey0
Congrats 👏 👏 👏.....now if we can get Thumbs to watch the movie we loaned him With Hooper and Six Pack covered, I feel Cannonball Run may be the next logical step, and I know what my pick would be! :D cannonball subaru.jpg Thanks to all the voters this month!!! I did a quick looking back, and this i...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I don't think the wife read the small print last January when I told her it was okay to leave the Christmas tree up all year. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac, a ways off the road so no one can really see it anyway. By doing this, she unknowlingy agreed to allow me to run large scale trains in the...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I got this "car plus extra parts" lot in today, and the plan was to keep the NIP rear wheels (which I have been searching for for months) and one of the NIP OEM bodies, and sell off the rest of the lot separately for close to (if not more than) what I have in it ................... but lik...

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build
Well, I needed a little break from reality today, so got back into the Landy a little bit. The brown filament I am using for the interior pieces is a brand I don't usually use, and it is garbage! So, I reprinted some pieces that were really bad. I then got some detail work done on the dash. I am not...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
About 15-20 years ago, I bought three Tamiya 3-speeds in various states of bad condition. Put the best of what I had into one, and ended up with a pretty nice truck, and sold it for close to what I had in the whole lot. After all those years, today is the day to start into the build I have always wa...

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build
All the printed parts needed for just one axle. The gears should maybe be made with something a little tougher, but just out of laziness, they were printed with a tough PLA just as the cases were, which I think will ultimately be fine. If they are too weak, I don't think they will destroy too much a...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
This popped up on FBMP for what I thought was a pretty good price, so now I have something new to learn.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
It poured in today!! Two RC10 rere tubs, another Fiero GTP (which seem to be coming out of the woodwork these days), and a mass of Tami 3-speed parts including Hilux stepside wheels, tires, axles, SCs, chassis, grill, brushguard, shocks/springs/mounts and Bruiser trans and wheels / tires.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Yep, Bruiser 750 vs. puny 540 Hilux.

Unintentionally, I now have Bruiser wheels, tires, axles, and a trans, so I am thinking about making my HG-P407 into a better clone!

Re: Favorite tools
As I dug into my near empty box of 100 toothbrushes this evening, I was reminded of this thread. I use the heck out of these for cleaning, and although I wish they were a little stiffer, for about 25 cent a piece, they do their job! It is nice to not have to deal with a limited number, or care at wh...

Re: 3D Sets Landy Build
Yea, even by my standards, I am taking way too long with this! But it will get done at some point.
I think I have all of the rear axle printed, and with lessons learned from the front, I think it will come together quickly.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I have been literally scared to dive deep into this Tami 3 speed for way too long, but this morning was the time for it for some reason. Replaced all bushings for bearings, except for two. Haven't put motor on it yet, but it spins freely in all three "gears." Spur gear was shot, and it is ...
