Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I read on Facebook that the new outdrives and stealth case are not necessarily compatible with the old stuff  I swear the people at AE just suck at remembering how things were done. Anyway the new stealth case is narrower between the bearings by enough that with an old diff you can't close the...

Finished up a 3d printed speed control and top portion of a servo. The wires from an ESC just clip in.

Re: RC150 Nitro Engine Help
Those engines were super popular and can be found in new condition on eBay quite often. Mine has the baffle removed and Welch plugs installed. No relation to John lol. Then there is a Dubro Mini Muff'L Aire that clamps around the engine and provides a rear exit with adjustable baffles like a supertr...

Re: RC150 Nitro Engine Help
im probably going to get called out on this but I have always used a little marvel mystery oil. Back in the day I heard old timers would add it to their fuel, so I considered it safe. Is it? Its a mystery

Re: Favorite tools
@morrisey0 I'd spring for the MIP bits. While expensive, they are of exceptional quality.

Re: Associated RC300 1/8 scale project No. 2
Some rework needed for building the front end. Same thing as experienced at the kit front end already. King pins have a too tight fitting and need a slight reaming of the holes at the steering arms. But not too much, as the holes should be slightly tighter as with the kit version. So the ball bearin...

Re: What was I thinking?? The R/C Edition
One thing I still regret is passing on the RC10GT blue chassis roller, I think it was Robb (morrisey0) sold a while back for a silly low price. Every time I see or think of a RC10GT, I think of that deal and kick myself square in the gonads.

Re: JG Truck
The JG SRT appears in the March 91 issue of RCCA (which is the Feb 91 issue of the scans) for the What's New For '91 feature. The only RCCA ad I've seen for it is in the July 91 issue of the scans. The only NIP parts I've seen for the SRT were packaged individually (rear arms came with dog bones), b...

AE RC10 4wd .step files
Obviously not from AE, these were taken from the parts as I built the kit. If anyone wants to play with them, here ya go. Probably not 100%, but should be a real good start. These measurements taken from the kit parts, and have not been adjusted at all for 3d printing. You may need to open up holes,...

C&M Cobra Ground Effects
I finally found my unicorn Ground Effects car thanks to Bob Stormer. I built it straight from the kit, then built it into a replica of the Cobra ad car. I'm still searching for the correct Cobra "Pro Series" motor with the green and red label. I only had this one small scan from the magazi...

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread
Any smart people here help me out with what to refer to this type of screw as? It is pretty much the opposite of a shoulder screw, as the shoulder is narrower than the thread diameter. It is one of those screws that stays in place when you remove a plastic cover / cap / top / etc (think old school ...
