Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

I will be running rubber. The rears are Schumacher U6710 tires. Also, I specified that I'll be using 3/16" rear axles. . 1000009153.jpg . On the movie car, I think it was determined there were foams on the rear and rubber ribs on the front. If you want to run rear foams, Jimmy might be willing ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Initially I thought I was going to receive a pair of nip RPM Ultra Molded 10T bellcrank kits. To my surprise one of the kits was for a buggy, and it has the elusive battery clips in the bag. Bummer, now you have to complain that it's wrong and send it back. Sure hate that they screwed up like that....

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Changing to a foam tire configuration just means having a smooth, no rib outside. That should be easy enough. When I got my wheels, Dhawk didn't have the smaller rear wheels in their product offerings. They do now, at least as 3 piece wheels.

The description says touring, but it's too wide wide for a touring car.

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

I like the kits but I don’t like how they won’t sell parts The AE lack of replacement parts really has nothing to do with my build, but as soon as I started the build I could tell that I wouldn't want to do any significant amount of running with these clear parts. They don't feel as durable as regu...

Re: Traxxas Sprint Car

It's kind of funny that this sprint car discussion is in the 21st century modern sub forum.

Re: Kyosho Outrage

Very nicely finished!

I'm not familiar with the Outrage but it looks to have a lot in common with the Ultima. Maybe the name comes from the Ultima wheels being molded in pink. 😉

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Started the build of my rere Turbo Optima during summer of 2022. Got back at it last night. I was really impressed with my ability to find shock shaft e-clips in the carpet that had launched themselves around the room. I think it might be a runner next weekend... or in another 18 months  . . 10...

Brushed motor cans & endbells

Most motor brands didn't make their own cans or endbells. A thread with the options they had to choose from might be interesting. My intention is to just have a sample of each variation of the parts. Starting with motors using Yokomo parts. Reedy seems to have almost exclusively used Yokomo parts fo...

Re: RJ Speed Legends Diff Axle?

I moved the hub on mine to use it as a 12L axle, but didn't change the overall length. I have it measuring 5.900"

Reassembling a Kimbrough servo saver

I have a Kimbrough servo saver that popped open when I was removing the screw from it after taking it off a servo. Getting the spring back inside the 2 halves of the servo saver body can be really frustrating. However, there are some small holes near the spring stop feature. Running a piece of waxed...

Re: TRX-1 hodgepodge - Bandit, Rustler, Slash gearbox parts?

I came across a nice, one owner, mostly complete TRX-1 in a lovely shade of Kermit the Frog green. It came with a really nice motor plate too. However, some slight difference between the TRX-3 gearbox and a TRX-1 gearbox mean the TRX-1 motor plate only works with a TRX-1 gearbox. Well crap, now I ha...

Re: Traxxas Sprint Car

Without a driver, maybe it would be an even earlier version of K.I.T.T. than K.A.R.R., with this being the Knight Industries One Thousand: K.I.O.T.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Maybe a dab of white behind the chrome paint to keep the black from darkening it. The black probably should have been done before the chrome.
