Re: It's Top Cat time!

Technically, the first 2WD offroader from Schumacher was the T402, which was a CAT without drive to the front wheels. Apparently it was atrocious in its day, but might actually go pretty well on a modern track due to the mid motor layout. The Top Cat was the first "from the ground up" 2WD ...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - February 2025 ** - Winner - 1300GT

Tamiya’s 100th kit. The Top Force. Fully rebuild with stainless hardware and period correct electronics (including the battery). Yokomo MX4 hubs and wheels. I cut out all the green from the decals as it didn’t match my theme. Build thread https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?p=579690#p579690 https...

Re: The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build

I finally peeled the masking off the first body I trimmed this morning and it’s time for an update, just lexan and paint work. This plain white paint job has been a fun challenge actually. I normally blast and paint things from a junkyard and refinish wood. Also one night I decided to trim the other...

Tamiya / Tonka Fire Truck

So, a few weeks ago, I ran across this semi-local ad on FBMP. It was for a Tamiya Grand Hauler fire truck, but it wasn’t a complete truck, just the body and accessories; you had to add your own GH chassis and drivetrain. Well, it just so happened that I have a GH project that I go mostly done previo...

Re: Tamiya / Tonka Fire Truck

So the plan for this thing is to get it fairly realistic, but it isn't going to be some stupid expensive rig at all. Full lights and sounds will be the main adds for the truck itself, and then the ladder will actually become an almost sperate project, and it will be run off its own Rx and have 5-7 c...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

The Traxxas esc is a bit too new, but being sealed I figured it may be good to have for a future Traxxas build.

The aluminum end Trinity motor is an actual new (with box, container, paperwork) beauty. I've been after a pink label for awhile.

Re: how do I know the capacitators are ok?

When I was in electronics class in high school the teacher would put a capacitor in the end of an extension cord, put that end into a metal garbage can, and plug the other end into an outlet. Bang!

Does it say which model it is? Just curious what sort of brushed power house you got.
That is a lot of RPM. Thing is a beast.

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!

I can't remember for sure if the backstory has ever been posted on here before but there is the 'About us' page that gives the gist of it: https://www.rc10talk.com/aboutus Yes, I've been involved since the very start. If you view the member list I was one of the first members to create an account up...

Re: RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!

I had signed up on Clodtalk somewhere in 2004. Mainly for Clod stuff, but there were a dozen or so guys that consistently discussed the older Associated buggy and truck, along with the lesser manufacturers  . Bill received enough pressure to build this board for us in '06. He put Hoopty and...
