Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Decided to pull the trigger on a Bambulab A1 Mini for very specific uses cases that I don't want to tackle on the X1C: Printing low shore TPU/TPE requires to change the extruder spring tension to work. This appear possible to do on the X1C by modding the printer head cover, but comes with additional...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
The A1 looks like a very capable yet inexpensive machine and perfect for single purpose printing. Very much looking forward to your review. For the small story, one of my friends contacted me because he had a small rc project (a mini Lunchbox 1/32 with available parts on Thingiverse) and he told me...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Sorry, the temptation has already been generated. I also have a few projects in mind that will require tires that are not available so I want an inexpensive printer for that purpose. I could print them on the P1S but... It looks like the mini could be the right tool for the job. I would say ...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Your parts are looking great! I'm about to order filament and I'm looking for some advice. Are we selecting PTEG over say ABS for its improved printability? According to these graphs, ABS is stronger and more heat resistant than PTEG. Maybe it's all about the "pungent odors"?? filaments.j...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Thanks!! I'm leaning toward ABS for printing bodies that will painted so UV exposure won't be a problem. How does PTEG sand and does it accept lacquer based primer and paint? Also, what is the best method to bond PTEG? Thanks for your reply. That's the biggest advantage of ABS : it's probably the e...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
PETG is the second least toxic filament, after PLA, was the impression I was under after reading on it. If I get a tent/vent, or print outdoors, I'd go with nylon filament. Thinking about PAHT-CF, or PA12-CF, as it is less prone to moisture absorption than ABS. ABS is not prone to moisture absorpti...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Reference image taken from Bambulab filament guide. Note the highlighted descrition for "seal with dessicant" https://i.imgur.com/zRja0IP.png And this is not unique to Bambulab filament, this is inherent to the material used. Nylon, Polycarbonate for example are really moisture sensitive f...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
The test print look good! :D Those belly plates will be easy to model, print and attach. Although the floor assembly print isn't meant to be structural, the plates should add some rigidity making it less brittle. We can add a full aluminum pan to the top side of the frame assembly to give the bus a...

Re: Shapeways Reopening
The site is up, but the marketplace doesn't appear anymore... Doesn't appear... yet  Maybe, maybe not. They bought all assets of Shapeways, which is likely mostly printing stuff... And when I read the first message you put on this thread, I see nothing indicating the marketplace will be back....

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
The Bambulab A1 mini is not arrived yet, It is already in the tracking, and I would expect it to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday... And it may time to review my organization for the 3D printers and materials... Currently, all printers are in a given room, with the Silhouette Cameo 4 as well... I have pl...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
I didn't anticipate that my phone would have any bearing on the operation of a 3D printer. Perhaps one day we won't be able to breath without our smart phones. To be honest, I did not either... That said, I'm working in Information Technology, and my usual business counterparts want mobile a...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Good to know, and great that they have a solution for this.
I take note of that link, next time someone ask me, I'll know about this

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Bambulab proposes since today some TPU for AMS. Shore is 68D, which means it is not as flexible than what we are used to think when we think TPU. That said TPU layer adhesion is great, and printing speed announced are fast: that could be a good test to do for suspension arms or other exposed parts.....

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Normally, it should be able to do OTA (OnTheAir) updates... That said, it may have a user connected for this... And since the post, I've search for offline update via SD card... Unfortunately, for the P1 series, it's marked as "coming soon"... https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/general/update-fi...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
I would suggest to try with a version of Bambu Studio prior to 1.06.00 firmware... Maybe Bambu Studio 1.08.04 for example, that you can find here. https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/releases/download/v01.08.04.51/Bambu_Studio_win_public-v01.08.04.51-20240117164301.exe This was prior they added ...
