Re: Tell me again about how we cant afford to produce RC parts in the USA anymore...
I think this is why Schuey used serviceable bearings on their early off-roaders. The manual told you to clean and re-oil the bearings periodically to preserve your investment. I have not been able to confirm, but I suspect the CAT bearings were actually repurposed Mini Cooper wheel bearings. O...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - May 2025 ** - Winner - morrisey0
Bolink FTW ! I grew up around a lot of bikers (the big tough bearded Harley riding kind, not the spandex and pointy helmet kind) and I could swear "FTW" meant something different back then. Congratulations on the win, although I must confess, my vote went to the Ford Thunderbird bod...

Re: Vintage motor questions/discussion
In that first photo with the screwdriver at the top, those are all capacitors. The large one is an electrolytic, which means it is polarized. It has a positive and negative lead and must be installed correctly. The rest are non-polarized and can be installed either way. They are interchangeable as l...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Whats hex or non hex wheels mean? "Hex" and "non-hex" refers to how the wheels mount to the buggy. Hex has a hexagonal shape molded into the mounting surface. That fits over a hexagon shaped piece on the end of the axle. The bearings are inside the hub. There are a few hex sizes...

Re: Vintage Sanyo Batteries
I am no expert, but the "bad" corrosion that indicates the battery is toast is usually powdery and greenish white. It is an acid leak/reaction. You see it often around the terminals on 1:1 car/truck lead acid batteries. You can neutralize it and clean it off with a baking soda and water mi...

Re: RC10T Cliff Lett Edition Kit
It is all good for shelf queens and occasional runners, but this is not good for the racers. If you don't have trackside parts support you either carry a hobby shop on your back or accept that every crash or hard landing could ruin your day. Granted, most of you crash less often and less sever...

Re: What's the best R/C car name ever?
I've wondered about that too. Was it a food truck, or was she just a whore??
