Was going to use the front bumper, but thinking about something else now.

Tamiya Wild Willy

In 1982 Tamiya embarked on a comical new venture in the 1/10 2wd electric vehicle scene with the Wild Willy. Intentionally disproportional the Willy wasn’t about scale accuracy or speed, this Jeep was designed as a stunt-mobile capable of puling wheelies at will. Constructed entirely of plastic the ...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

GreenBar0n wrote: Tue Apr 29, 2025 2:55 pm Funny you should say that, I was thinking about taking that exact front bumper from the Sand Scorcher, for the Rough Rider and getting the more box art shaped front bumper for the SS. Haven't decided yet.
That'd be really cool... those four-point front guards look perfect on the Sand Scorchers.

Re: Kyosho mint green paint

If you don't get anywhere on finding an acceptable green you can always take a wheel to an automotive paint supplier near you (PPG, Dupont, etc.) they'll scan it with a spectrometer then sell you that color single stage enamel in a ready to spray aerosol can.

Tamiya Brat

In 1983 Tamiya would create yet another highly popular 1/10 2wd electric off-road platform when they released the Subaru Brat. Modeled after it's full-size namesake the Brat used an entirely new ORV (Off Road Vehicle) chassis that was unlike anything they had previously designed. Rather than using a...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

That settles it, going with the cage style up front for the SS. Need to figure out which model. The paint choices didn't get any easier today, knowing the manual may be pointing to TS-10 French Blue. TS-10 French Blue, TS-93 Pure Blue, TS-44 Brilliant Blue Still can't decide. Hmm, tough one... Thin...

Tamiya Frog

In 1983 Tamiya would strike lightning twice with its popular 1/10 2wd electric off-road racing buggy, the Frog. Sharing the ORV (Off Road Vehicle) chassis with the well-known Subaru Brat and lesser-known Lancia Rally car meant the Frog's guts were supported by the ORV's molded plastic space frame st...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

Got the vintage tires today, front tire on the right is pretty solid, the other on the left is like an old bike tire that sat out in the sun, look at all the cracks. "Go find another set", is about all that can be said about this - this set took about 3 months to find. That's heartbreakin...

Re: Best under guard for our re-re RC10s

Anybody tried Plasti-dipping? I guess you can cut it/thin it out and spray it on? Plasti-dip can be bought in spray cans. I've used it, really soft, tears easily, and a single can builds a film about as thick as a can of spray paint so it takes several cans (at $9/can) to get enough thickness. Coul...

Re: Black Rims and Silver tri-wing nut OR Silver rims and Black tri-wing nut ???

oh just saw the poll, wow people really have bad taste in wheel color  Come on guys, the original 1:1 wheels were Magnesium why would you want to paint over that with boring black paint? Because in this instance the silver is too busy, the black wheel looks more aggressive by allowing your eye...

Re: Tamiya Buggy Champ - 2009 Reissue Rough Rider

This Mint 400 documentary, looks like the 1978 Tamiya Catalog, the Blazing Blazer is featured prominently: Not a fan of 70's music but the theme songs used in era were way better than the heavy metal intros youtubers use now... ...whole thing had a "Magnum P.I." feel to it. Too cool. 👍
