Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2024 ** - Winner - Frankentruck
Summer 1993. A Works91 in little used condition was for sale at the local hobby store where me and my best friend came regularly for a visit after school. Normally they sold Tamiya stuff only. From first view this Works impressed me like a spaceship. But unfortunatelly not my parents. Thinks got eve...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2024 ** - Winner - Frankentruck
I wish the Hornet will raise up into battle for 3rd. The anodized parts look better the more I look at. The nerf and sway bar seems originally belong to Panda / Graupner Cyclone. But the shocks do not. Despite that, the colour matching is very good. Maybe the chunky back bumper prevents better place...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - July 2024 ** - Winner -GrePo
Before Tsukuba's R/C designers reveal their latest Buggy rebirth, I want to show you my genuine Dogfighter. Body was brushed in an age, when electric cars acted gas powered models, staged by stickers e.g. Texaco, Bardahl, STP a.o. Motor is made by Mabuchi for Graupner. It is similar to what they mad...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - July 2024 ** - Winner -GrePo
I wouldn't have thought that my quite box stock build will disqualify me from this lovely contest till end of the year. Lessons learned of last two months: laydown suspension seems to be the winning secret. In fact I actually wanted to post another Yokomo from the 90s but Frankentruck's great suspen...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - September 2024 ** - Winner - RC10th
Awesome month. Yokomized RC10 looks brilliant. I also like the look of R16's car for exuding this authentic vintage-charme. For my personal taste the meticulous period correct Yokomo YR4 is so outstanding, I normally couldn't get around it. But finally my vote goes to THECHEETAHCAUGHTHISEYE becase I...

Yokomo Superhot Dog Fighter
It has a tradition at Yokomo, releasing Buggy versions based on on-road chassis: 1995 Hot Dog 4 based on YR-4 chassis. And in 1999, when the MR4-BC was introduced on MR4-touring car platform. But inbetween these both there appeared a few YR4-II touring car models without any Buggy derivative. The YR...

Re: Yokomo Superhot Dog Fighter
But a Buggy conversion for mild offraod use may be interesting because it already comes with a Lipo compatible battery holder and I like the unique shape of the chassis plate and the look of these open bulkhead caps front and rear. I'm curious how good YR- and YZ-parts do fit together. After I check...

Re: Yokomo Superhot Dog Fighter
Moving rear battery holder towards front freed space for second gear lane. In this step I gave up usabilty of NiCad batteries, but since I overcome fear of LiPo batteries, that is fine for me. Chassis includes an "outsourced" hole for servo mount. I had to cut away this section because it ...

Re: Yokomo Superhot Dog Fighter
Good point, but I´m happy with what it is now. Going on adapting the body.

Re: Yokomo Superhot Dog Fighter
Only problem is I cannot extract capital letter H from the original lettering. Maybe this is the right name

Re: New Yokomo 870c 89 wcs project
The need for painting the body makes me pause my Yokomo project too
I'd rather watch the progress of your build. I like it very much.

1991 Detroit Worlds Special Stealth Yokomo Cliff Lett
I translated this article from a german magazine, january 1992: In August 1991 Team Yokomo aimed to defend their world's title. They did so by finishing first and second, but not with their production Works cars, but with cars that were designed especially for this worlds track. It was forbidden to ...
