Re: The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build
The race of FedEx leaving Kuwait versus UPS leaving California; FedEx still won! I like your take on the darker anodizing; they do look nice and even have a silvery look depending on the lighting. Safe to say, Kyosho would probably package some variant of these shocks in a Turbo Ultima kit if they d...

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Just discovering this because Trey bumped it up!! Jesus, what an awesome build this is Coxbros!!!
It answers so many things I've been wondering for years on Estes powered cars!!
I'm so glad the car is in great shape to make more runs!

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Unexpected home remodel project is really interrupting RC bench time (& budget) the last couple weeks. But still, taking small bites at projects and a few pics. (posting from my Iphone and the preview pics are all rotated screwy) First is one for the married guys. I’m using the wood stove...

Re: The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build
I finally peeled the masking off the first body I trimmed this morning and it’s time for an update, just lexan and paint work. This plain white paint job has been a fun challenge actually. I normally blast and paint things from a junkyard and refinish wood. Also one night I decided to trim the other...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I was given this JRXT project in a box today. 8) Quick look it has Andy’s front arms, RPM rears, Tekin ESC, TBD purple motor. It looks like all bearings are roached, it’s missing a gear cover and it needs a spur gear. Gonna need a build thread to find my way on this one. A93C3FAF-5FA5-4802-A050-ED10...

Basement JRXT revival
E9D5E237-F87B-4852-AA80-C74E60E08007.jpeg I received this JRXT in an old beat up cardboard box from my good friend Mike this past weekend. Hoping the Losi faithful can tell me more about it. It has Andys arms in front, RPM arms in rear. None of the JRXT rear 4 link stuff is there; but holes for it ...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
Being 45 and growing up in SE WI...the highlights of childhood were Mini bikes/small engines, skyway mags, staring at the wall of BMX candy (pegs and parts) at the local bike shop, tower hobbies, freedom to roam, popping the hood on moms 86 Cutlass to charge the battery for my Raider, hanging out at...

Re: The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build
Somehow my method is at least partially to blame!
I email pictures to myself "smaller" to get em to 1mb and they're straight when I go save from email.
The pictures outside on the brick BBQ grill, the world isn't upside down.
Maybe I just need to go outside more.

Re: Basement JRXT revival
Since last post I have made baby steps on the JRXT revival. The truck is apart! The hinge pins weren't moving with a hammer and punch until some of that embedded grit got out of there and the parts were warm/pliable. The ultrasonic cleaner has been run multiple cycles on everything with Dawn and hot...

Re: The retro-not-real Turbo Ultima build
The timing of my re-entry into RC kinda missed the JJ Ultima kit. This was OK; I managed to turn the 87 WC kit into a fairly faithful copy of the Turbo Ultima I actually wanted. I’ve collected most parts for a long arm DPRC build but we have some discussion on those topics going already and I’ll get...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
Another fun memory of growing up was police scanners being more of a household item. Back then we had a larger Midland scanner where 10 lights flashed across the front and it took 10 frequency crystals. This was intriguing as you always had the inside scoop on what was happening downtown. Also my Gr...

Re: My take on the Dec 1987 RCCA Project Optima truck
Hats off for following the path to build this!! Inspiring!!!
It is a stunning build and I love the nod to the Jeep Commanche!
Waiting that long for something you've lusted for; it has to bring a smile everytime you turn the lights on in the room.

Re: Back In My Day ..................
I remember Bozo being on before school....dreamed of going on there and being one of the little kids that got a $50 bill.
Can't remember why they got $50, but that was the memorable part of the show for me. They didn't hand out $50's on other shows!
