Re: The RC10 4wd
I feel like the Brits go off the deep end with some of their scrutineering in these revival classes. I've said it before and I'll say it again, make rules simple, over regulating everything just makes everyone's life more annoying. Who wants to sit there teching every car? Our vintage racing here i...

Re: The RC10 4wd
...Seemed much easier back then turn count/ triple etc & a novak or tekin.. It's much the same with brushless, the lower the turn number the faster the motor, but while you can adjust the motor timing most of the motor tuning is done by programming the ESC. Hobbywing is the biggest name in ESCs...

Re: What is it now Team Associated?!
Any guesses? Screenshot_20250423_144208_Instagram.jpg It's the TC8, it's been known about since last year. The going rate for a touring car is around $700 these days. https://events.redrc.net/2024/11/2024-istc-worlds-usa-test/ And all race touring car bodies are that shape these days https://www.pr...

Re: Turbo Optima Mid Special Annouced!
What are the differences between this and the previous Optima releases? I confess to getting lost with all of the Turbo, Mid, Pro, Special, SE, etc. lingo. I get Mid, that one was easy, but the others seem redundant. Is this the last and best before Kyosho went to the Lazer? In original release ord...

Re: Turbo Optima Mid Special Annouced!
No Ball differentials mentioned OTW101C It comes with the ball differentials, and the steering centre link is the HD metal one. Although a lot of people have replaced the ball diffs in other models for the much more durable gear diffs. As for retaining the battery, coming from on road racing I'm us...

Re: The Kinwald Edition RC10 (it is here!)
Here's the awesome decal sheet included, for example: Lets make a Jay Halsey edition. It's a basic stripe paint scheme that anyone can do with masking tape and rattle cans - let's cover most of the body with stickers to replicate it. Lets make a Brian Kinwald edition. Its a drip pattern across the ...

Re: The Kinwald Edition RC10 (it is here!)
If I were 20 I might keep it for that reason, but really what good is it other than to stare at it on the shelf or leave it in a box. I don't think anyone will drive these I think you'll find more of these driven and raced than any other re-release so far. It's the racing spec version of the RC10, ...

Re: brushed ESC's- new vs old old tech
it makes me wonder if the new stuff is actually better than a 29 year old Novak. And to clarify- by better I don't just mean the tuning- I mean efficiency, power handling, smoothness, etc. The whole she-bang I do know a decent racer at the Iconic Cup which used a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor in a touri...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Today I received what's technically a Manta Ray  It is a Lee Broadhurst built car, a similar spec to the Manta Rays Craig Drescher and Jamie Booth are running. A mix of Tamiya Manta Ray gearcases and diffs, LBRC chassis, shock towers, arms and gears. Custom RC Parts alloy upgrades, Willspeed st...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
That's awesome! Not your usual Tamiya offering.... It appears to have some Schumacher-ey bits as well (ball cups, rear tower support). I'm in the UK, what else are we going to use for generic part but Schumacher. Most big bores fitted to vintage racers are Schumacher, because for us they rae cheape...

Re: 1/4” wheels on Teams car… what do I need?
Thank you both for your replies. Parts inbound. Next problem is finding 1/4" shims in the UK. I misplaced a few and cannot work out how to find spares here. Any tips? Could I go for 7mm (1/4" = 6.35mm). Available from any 1/12th specialist shop https://zen-racing.co.uk/crc/1640-crc-1-4-sh...

Re: How to affix an endbell?
Support the motor and use a hammer with the largest pin punch you can fit in there to bend the tabs over with so you don't mark the tabs. You might find it useful the remove the brush holders from the endbell first so you can't damage them.

Re: Time for another new RERE section- now MARDAVE!
A quick history lesson. Mardave was one of the first rc car manufacturers in the world, making 1/8 nitro cars in 1970 and electric cars in 1976. Schumacher started because a young Robin Schumacher and his friends raced Mardaves and his father thought a differential would help the handling. When the ...
