Re: Brushed motors display stand
I know this is a motor display thread, but is there a build thread on that Schumacher? :D Unfortunately not although I did enter it in the Build of the Month a while back. Here it is under the body. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50324343286_647fdc0dae_k.jpg Great build. Where did you find tha...

Re: Brushed motors display stand
Congrats, this is definitely a nice display. Are the motor stands homemade or available somewhere? I like the angled presentation more but have not found something so far for this task. Thanks, yes they can be found on ebay, usually from China & prices vary. Here's an example. https://www.ebay....

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
So the Tekin M Star Gold is a special version made for Yokomo. But basically it is a G12?
Of course it looks special and nice.

Re: What is the diameter of Corally SP10 front and rear wheels?
Sorry for late reply. Have not been at the forum for some time. The original Corally wheels are larger diameter, not to compare with AE or other typical Pro10 wheels. Maybe similar to the old TRC BBS wheels. I just measured them. Front wheels approx. 51 mm diameter, 28 mm wide. Rear wheels approx. 5...

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes
For telling the truth, I forgot which size are the Checkpoint brushes. But it seems there is a difference between real slot brushes and the ones used by Checkpoint. The Checkpoint ones came with shunt wires, as with usual brushes for R/C motors. Brushes for Slot motors never came with shunt wires. T...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I need a bit of help on this one. What exactly am I looking at if it is a Bolink? Basically it´s a Jerobee car. As several other early 1/12 scale cars. The most important difference is the base plate which is bolted to the chassis. Base plate with front and rear bumper and battery plate for saddle ...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I´m pretty sure the 1/12th scale is a Speedmerchant. The early Carpet Knife and the Speedmerchant have the same roots. I did a lot of research on this maybe 10 years ago because it is a bit difficult story. I have a Carpet Knife prototype car (one of three cars made) which I received from a former t...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I don´t think CRC sold GPM bulkheads.
Most GPM aluminium stuff I have seen is not on par to Associated or CRC aluminium parts. Their bulkheads tweak quite easily which I never have experienced with AE or CRC bulkheads.

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)
Well commenting several posts in one. Swapping endbells could make a motor no longer legal, for competition use. I don´t think a motorbuilder would sell a Yokomo based motor with an Air Supply endbell. Prototype motors are a different story. Yokomo might be to read at the endbell or can, but these a...

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)
You mean the armature blank. Well, maybe 99.9% of all armature blanks made have one thing in common. The steel shaft. But that´s it. Kyosho and I think also some AYK armatures got inclined slots where most other armatures got straight slots. Diameter and length of the iron sheet core differed, same ...

Associated RC300 1/8 scale project No. 2 - custom build
Some guys might remember my RC300 project, building a new car from spare parts. I just realized this was 7 years ago. Well, times fly ... The project was for building a plain basic RC300 car. So the name is RC300 Basic. This car still belongs to my collection and I really like the look. Because it w...

OK, let´s start.
In the beginning there is always the pile of parts. Some might be replaced later.

Re: Associated RC300 1/8 scale project No. 2
Some rework needed for building the front end. Same thing as experienced at the kit front end already. King pins have a too tight fitting and need a slight reaming of the holes at the steering arms. But not too much, as the holes should be slightly tighter as with the kit version. So the ball bearin...

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)
Regarding Revtech motors you have to keep in mind there are actually two different Revtech companies. The original Revtech company was started and owned by Neil McCurdy. When he went to work as the motorbuilder for Trinity, Revtech was sold to Ernie Provetti. In my mind these motors are not 'real' R...
