Re: Needing information on a clod
Welp! Not much holding these together besides paint...any recommendations on using original parts or hop up alloy? Way more cracks all over on them. They were red but painted black. That's very common due to being the highest stressed part on a Clod coupled with the ABS material used. You can get a...

Re: master of rc auto racing 155 card set 1992
These cards are awesome..I never knew they existed. https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=162181&mode=view I used to race at American-Trac 1991-92. It was in Mattoon, IL amongst the farm fields and the hobby shop was in the basement of their house. They had a great off-road track too. W...

Re: master of rc auto racing 155 card set 1992
Upon further detective work, I think I found the address!! 8567 E County Rd 550 N, Mattoon, IL 61938 People with the same last name as the original owner are still attached to the location. Using Google Maps, there's what could possibly be an extremely faint outline of a tri-oval in the field behind...

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.
This topic reminded me of when Tamiya went after people for reproductions: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=23744 GTFOH Gimme a Break! tumblr_mefvg318Z51qmsjj3o1_400.gif I haven't seen anyone bring up that show in ages! I used to love watching it as a kid. I also had a person...

Re: Vintage CAM motor specs?
Unfortunately, it could be any number of specs. Manufacturers routinely used the same cans and labels for their motors with the only difference being the winds. The only way to find out for sure is to take it apart to inspect the armature. CAM took the confusion further by not even using part number...

Re: Sand Rover, Tamiya's unlovable child
The paint reminds me of the Matchbox Sand Digger I had as a kid. Actually, I think I still have it.

Re: Anyone know who made this Nissan Hardbody?
Although similar, the original King Cab body never had rear fender flares that size or the roll bar molded in behind the cab. Using my Google skills, I found that it's a McAllister Nissan King Cab body: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=102489&sid=22001 I love the RC10Talk wheel ...

This is the place to discus the: "Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide" For cleanliness and clarity, it was decided to no longer allow posts to be made in the actual topic itself. The discussion regarding it can be made here instead in this spin-off thread. This also serves as th...

Re: Kinda cool rc12e
Wow, I didn't know an '80s Saab body existed. :o  My 2nd car was a dark grey 89 Saab 900 Turbo. My family was into them in the '90s and we ended up with quite a few as a result. My father and I did powertrain work on them. I think we still even have a few Garrett turbos left over. That came out...

Re: Dadio's latest dumb question
I have one, and it's indeed very awkward to use. Like 1300GT mentioned... people modified them by screwing a slot car controller to the backside, and connected the throttles between the two via a bellcrank and rods. Parma even sold an actual conversion kit. Here's what a modified setup looks like: h...

Re: Nitro Talk
The first thought that came to mind after reading your post is that if consumers don't even want to build kits anymore, nitro has no chance.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Alright, I've procrastinated all I can as it pertains to updating the forum software. It's supposed to be done at least once a year but I've let it go over two years now. A number of new versions have come out during that time, and we've fallen almost too far behind at this point. So with that being...

Re: Watch your refunds...
Is it just me or has Harbor Freight prices gone through the roof? It was a place to get dirt cheap disposable stuff, and now the prices seem to be on par with far better options. Whenever I go to their site to look for something, I'm astounded by the prices.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
REMINDER: August 1st is tomorrow when I planned on updating the forum software. Unsurprisingly, a bunch of stuff has come up that's trying to impede me from doing so but an attempt will be made. If I'm able to do it, the board will likely be down frequently, and for long stretches of time.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
Alright, after working on the board for over 7 hours straight, everything has been updated. I still have a bunch to do but it's currently 8:00am, and I'm off to bed. I'll work on it some more later this evening.
It's funny how after all that work, it looks like I did nothing at all...
