Re: Traxxas Nitro Hawk

Back during this time is when I finally got my parents to agree to buy me my first hobby grade R/C for my birthday. I ultimately narrowed it down to this, a Kyosho Thunderbird stock car, or a Kyosho Nitro Thrasher. I'm glad I didn't pick the Nitro Hawk as my foray into the hobby may have very well t...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

They look nice per se, but a major pet peeve of mine is when manufacturers started selling "sport" or track inspired versions of trucks with extended, quad, crew cabs etc...

This is my reaction every time. :P

Re: the new Tamiya Pajero is just terrible... so I did this

I instantly recognized that as a 'MAX' which I feel is the most well-known manufacturer of amphibious ATVs. I looked it up, and the company is still in business cranking them out!

Re: Server Funding Status

There's only 10 days left to the month and we're only a little over halfway to the goal. It's not a big deal, but thought I'd mention it. The perk is since it's already the 21st, you'll retain 'Super Member' status for next month as well.

Re: The Lives and Deaths of RC Companies

The hobby isn't the same as it was in the late 80's and 90's. It has become way more corporate and lost the magic that it once had. I'm just glad I grew up in the hobby when I did. Unfortunately, the same can be said for many many things. Movies, music, etc... The '90s was the last great decade to ...

Re: Traxxas Street Sport

Please allow me to quote myself from 2022: I bought one new back around 2000. I'd bring it to work with me when I was a night security guard to drive around an empty parking lot. It was really fast but handled poorly in stock configuration, especially with those worthless crowned slicks. What a terr...

Re: Forum News & Discussion

I just found out that we received several donations so far this month but the notification portion of the donation system isn't working so we had no idea. :? That's the reason your member group hasn't been changed yet. I'm working on it now!

Re: Forum News & Discussion

Before going to sleep today, I checked the logs and whatever bad traffic we were being hit with has subsided enough where I was able to remove the US filter at least. :)

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)

Hey thanks! I added the info. I removed the Bud's #7241 12x2 oval motor due to the potential discrepancy, and the fact there's nothing official to back it up.

Re: My basher Tyco Bandit build.

When is it no longer considered a Bandit? This is how they would have designed them if they didn't have to hit a price point I'd like to imagine. Good stuff. :) I didn't see a Tyco section on the forum so hopefully I put this in the right place. Back when this forum was created, there were o...

Re: So You're Into RC Cars. WTF Else Do You Do?

Even though I'm a Windows guy... er was. (It's all crap these days.) Macs in the '80s were my first introduction to computers that has lasted me a lifetime. I even found a certificate a few years ago that stated I was my schools computer lab manager in 1985. I fondly remember Sticky...

Re: So You're Into RC Cars. WTF Else Do You Do?

My interactions with computers were mainly at schools until '95 when we got our first home computer. It was a DFI (Diamond Flower Inc) with a Cyrix 686 processor, and 14.4k modem. I would have loved to be a part of the BBS era but alas, I was a bit too young. I did catch the very tail end of it thou...

Re: Ultimate Vintage Brushed Motor Reference Guide (Discussion Topic)

Added LRP Grand Prix II and X-Generation motors to the list. Also made a bunch of smaller additions and amendments.
