Re: Back In My Day ..................
We pouned entire boxes of strip caps with a sledgehammer for the big boom Got my fingers slammed in the door of a sky blue Pinto once too....after swim lessons at the "Y". The only 'explosives' I was allowed to play with as a kid were strip caps, and those snapper aka pop-it things you th...

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection
This was a great read-through as I have a Raider Pro as well that I'm slowly pecking away at. I'm not set on keeping it all original or period correct, so I'd like to go the aftermarket chassis route as well.

Re: R/C Cars in the Movies/TV
Ha, I remember that! Ironically, the last time I saw that episode was in the '90s which is also the last time I watched an episode of Knight Rider until now.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
There was once a time when members had the ability to create their own polls, but for whatever reason it was eventually taken away. I believe I've come up with a solution that should work which is a dedicated forum just for polling.

Re: Back In My Day ..................
Two VHS tapes of R/C stuff just sold on eBay I was contemplating buying. I also have a lot of home videos on VHS as well so I looked into what it would cost to digitize the format, and was surprised the equipment would cost hundreds. :? Everyone I knew back in the day had VHS except for one friend w...

Re: off topic: fry sauce
On the subject of hot dogs, an old staple of New England are fried hot dog slices mixed with baked beans sometimes called beanie weenies. :P The best hot dog bun (New England style) was also invented in this part of the country. They're basically rectangle in shape so they stand up better, and you c...

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)
so if a company copies the Hotshot that's ok? This made me think of Royal's Ripper . It illustrates the tale of R/C companies knocking off other people's work being as old as time, and has never been right. It also made me remember how Thunder Tiger has been knocking off models since at least the e...

Re: Kyosho Target Scotch Indy Car
Sorry I didn't see the 2008 post. I literally have no idea what this is worth and I have 19 other R/C's. sounded like a good question to me, you are missing the point that the risk is all on the seller to trust a comment on a social media post. There should be no inherent risk there. I would have e...

Re: Back In My Day ..................
On the subject of Altered Beast, I owned the arcade machine back in the early '00s. I got it in a lot with other games. As a matter of fact, it was apparently the first thing I sold on eBay in 2004 under my current account: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=45374 It was an innovative game but...

Re: Lunar eclips

I'm pretty sure I've had a few fly off and land on the moon as they were never to be seen again.
The peak of it for me is around 3:00am. It's usually cloudy here when lunar events happen but it's supposed to be decent tonight.

Re: Back In My Day ..................
It was an innovative game but it always bugged me that there were only 5 measly levels. :? That is probably the only reason why I beat it. Having only 5 levels worked well for us because we didn't like multiplayer. We would pass the controller around the room and just play for high score. Alc...

Re: Found some amazing vintage parts!
Wow, incredible!!

The smaller diameter Sees are for the Midnight Pumpkin / Lunch Box sized tires. I have a set myself I've had for a long time.

Re: Forum News & Discussion
The past day or two I've noticed the board acting a bit funny speed wise so I checked the server monitor and the load is bouncing off of 100%. :? I logged into Cloudflare to check the traffic activity because that's normally what causes it, and it seems we're getting inundated with some bad traffic ...
