I still have nightmares from cutting all those decals.

RPM Ultra Molded RC10
After wanting one of these as a kid 30+ years ago after seeing the magazine ad, I was finally able to build an Ultra Molded buggy. Just added a few period mods but nothing too crazy. I was so tempted to add some stickers to this blank canvas, but it looks just too good to cover up. - MIP CVD's...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2024 ** - Winner - kandkhobby13
The year was 1987. I got my second ever hobby grade r/c, the Tamiya Thunder Shot for Christmas. This is of course a re-release, but the CD is original, received the same Christmas. Jammed it with my cousins while we built the T Shot. Raced it hard and lost a lot before getting my TQ10, which I also ...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2024 ** - Winner - kandkhobby13
I started with an ORIGINAL AE Graphite chassis, and built up from there to have a 'modernized' durable racer. 13mm Kashima Fox shocks, 3.5mm ball cups & Titanium turnbuckles, B6 rear wing mount, JC Racing Retro case with a B6 gear diff, Factory Works steering kit, Dragon Punch RC shorty Lipo mou...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - August 2024 ** - Winner - kandkhobby13
Picked up this as a partial slider and pieced it back together, mostly when parts that I already had. A stamp, modified for inline battery, DS servo saver, Factory Works towers and transmission brace, and Tamiya turnbuckles (weird, right?). Body is a JConcepts Protector with reproduction Cox Bandido...

Associated RC10 Modified Battery Tray
The fitment of the factory battery tray was right against the servo posts and the height of it would interfere with the connector cables for my hardcase lipo battery packs. I redesigned a tray that has a lower height to avoid the battery pack cables, put a relief in it to allow plenty for clearance ...

Cliff Lett RC10 bodied CAT XL - Romsey ‘87
Not been on here for a while or really into much RC-wise but these are too cool not to post. An old journalist friend has loaned me his album of personal pictures from the Romsey Worlds in 1987. I have seen one thread requesting pictures of this car but not much else - these shots are previously uns...

Re: Cliff Lett RC10 bodied CAT XL - Romsey ‘87
The driveshafts have been flipped on the Masami car to move the one way rollers to just outside the diff rather than down by the wheel to reduce the unsprung weight. Common practice in the UK club scene. It is hard to see in this picture but if you go on to the House of RC website they have shameles...
