Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Hi, Bellow is a Yokomo Timeline of all the Yokomo Off-Road cars that I am aware of. I have heard of other versions (not listed below) such as the 'Craig Drescher' Version but I cannot personally confirm the release of such models (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=33294). Maybe there ...

RC10FX (aka Japanese Spec. RC10 Championship Edition)

Hi everyone, I present to you my freshly built Team Associated RC10FX. This model was released in Japan only and is essentially an RC10 Championship Edition with a few extra parts not included with the American (and everywhere else except Japan) release versions. The extra parts that were included i...

Re: YZ10 Carbon Fiber parts ID

Hey Andy, I can't confirm who made the chassis but a good guess is that it is a 'Team' item. The extra cell slot on the left side and the enlarged portion around the front right area of the chassis suggests this was done to allow more room for the steering servo and receiver. Judging also by the top...

Yokomo Works '91 Drescher Edition

Hello all, I present to you my freshly restored Yokomo Works ‘91 Drescher Edition. Most of you will know that Yokomo did not make a Drescher Edition and it is in fact a Yokomo Works ’91 with a conversion kit centred around a change in front suspension geometry designed by Craig Drescher and CML (muc...

Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Hey everyone. It has been a while since I last posted on here with a build project and having been able to procure the parts needed for this Yokomo MX-4 Hybrid, I would like to share some of the parts used and build progress with you all. I was inspired by Cristian and his own Yokomo MR4-BC Special ...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Totally awesome, Vincenzo!!! Cheers Paul :D The Rayspeed Spring Cups came all the way from Switzerland  nice parts I never seen the SSG front damper stay for MX4, but why not have the rear? Thanks crusaderlyf2 (Yunfei?). I have the MX-4 SSG rear shock tower available but at the moment, I am l...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Some progress. Mounted the battery and transponder posts onto the chassis and assembled the slipper clutch. The slipper clutch is quite a simple design and similar to the version on the MX-4. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49983551888_2ab874700a_k.jpg IMG_3018 by Vincenzo Triventi , on Flickr h...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Made some progress mounting the front and rear bulkheads onto the chassis and installing the drivetrain. I forgot how compact the slipper clutch/one-way assembly and rear differential are but once installed onto the chassis, everything fits perfectly and is a testament to the design ability of Masaa...

Re: [completed] And now something completely different: YR4-M2 Type-J

Fantastic write up Paul. A pleasure to read the rebuild of this particular Yokomo (probably the most well known Yokomo touring car of the era as there where a few - M, M2, M-SP and J-Type) and appreciate all the little build tips you provided especially the one regarding the rear ball diff 8) How di...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Next up is the installation of the front shock tower, I-arm brace and front suspension. No issues during installation and it is starting to look like an off-road buggy now. The Team Suzuki aluminium steering parts work very well and imo, look good against the silver surface material. https://live.st...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Last pieces to be installed apart from the rims, tires, body, wing and undertray. The shocks are from the Yokomo MR4-BC Special and are wonderful units. I am quite familiar with these style of Yokomo shocks as I have built and rebuilt the touring car versions many times over the years. The bleed scr...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Awesome build Dual, just a quick question relating to the LWB conversion. What parts are actually used to allow for the conversion? I've studied the pics and can't quite understand how it works. Hey Alex, happy that you like the build :D . The ZS-LWP Long Wheelbase Conversion Kit is based on moving...

Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Thanks mate very helpful, I just picked up a MR4-BC after not doing anything Yokomo related since my WCS Build, doubt I'll get it to your standard but I have a few mods inline to bring it up a few notches. One other question is there a part number for the spacers you used to mount the MX-4 style sh...
