Re: Car#9 RC10LSS ‘IDENTITY CRISIS’

Having the rear cutout creates a vacuum under the car that keeps the rear tires planted. If there is no cutout, the car will have a tendency to lift at high speeds and possibly flip. It happened to me a few times until I cut out the panel. In general what do you thing the Terminal Velociti is befor...

Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

Here is another project underway. I think this is an old Hyper drive H10. I am not sure but I think it was their first 10th scale pan car. A fairly nice car looking past the goofy tires stuck on the rims. Guess they wanted an off roader. It has a real nice Tekin G12c III, Hitec 645MG servo and B&...

Re: RC10 B4 rebuild/update

I love my old B4.1 too! Yours has a very nice paint job and equipped nicely! I don't have the top of the line edition, just the rtr version. I kept it in the box with the plan to upgrade the car to one like yours. Great handling car when setup right. It ran circles around my friends old RC10.

Re: Vintage TC3 Gene Husting collection car

I would use clear double sided tape cut and applied to the back of the labels. https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Brand-Engineered-Dispensered-6137H-2PC-MP/dp/B0025W9AWA?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_2 A fine piece of history. I would keep it a shelfer as well. Agree it would be better to aquire another TC3 and clone...

Just came across this cool old video.

Brings back memories, seems like a much simpler time compared to modern living. I need to invent a time machine....

I like Joel's advice to improve your skills......um, stay off the dots, lol!

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

Thanks Doug! That will help lead me in the right direction. Today I thought I would make my own bearing ride height inserts. The originals were designed to allow use of the axle tube and not the bearings themselves. Since my tube was bent on one end and had a hole ground through it, I decided to eli...

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

Thanks! I will likely make a few more so I can fine tune the ride height. Today while shopping, I went by the shoe section and had an idea. Since shoe polish hides scuffs and scratches on footware, why not try it on a vintage Hyperdrive pan car chassis? I applied several coats and allowed it to dry....

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

That's a good point. It's not a permanent solution but it does work to tone down the scratches and give a new like sheen to the plate. It is a multi wax formula that has petroleum based additives that evaporate after applying and the wax then hardens and can be buffed to give it the overall sheen. O...

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

It's time to finally give this car an actual functioning diff instead of the super glue locker it had before. But it seems with this car every part needs attention. This time while putting in a set of diff rings I noticed the Hyperdrive cars must use 16mm or 5/8" inner diameter rings. Nope, don...

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special

Here is how she sits so far. Parts dyed and came out better than I expected. I decided to make my own battery hold down pieces due to one of the originals had a wallowed out slot and it didn't look quite right on the car. Also worked on the diff a bit to find where it was binding. The buds centering...

Re: Ford v Ferrari (spoiler alert)

I thought it was a well done movie. The actual Ken Miles LeMans GT40 car was at the Shelby American Collection right down the road from me. That car is all business and no roll cage! It may still be there but it has been several years since I visited. His Cobra Roadster is there listed in their coll...

I think it turned out great! What a nice looking car! This and the Plazma are some of my favorite Kyosho's.
