Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread

Sometimes when I'm looking for something R/C related and Google is of no help, I try WorthPoint. I had that car on my eBay watch list a while ago, and I thought maybe WorthPoint picked up on it which they did. :) I've been nonchalantly looking for a pair of those Grand Prix tires myself. Although I...

Re: RC10 DS driving tips

If the car spins out when you lift firstly check for drag in the driveline, if there is none then dial the drag brake down. Make sure your front ahocks aren't too soft and try to take grip off the front of the car. Or the rear end is set up too stiff.

Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

This will be the build thread of a stock spec vintage race truck, an attempt to make a Traxxas SRT fast. With the cost and rarity of Associated parts here I decided to make the switch to the dark side, where parts are considerably cheaper and readily available. A truck that I can push 100% (or beyon...

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

I reckon you need some lightweight stub axles or it's going to be massively overweight. A little bit here and a little there adds up, I have a feeling the truck will be fairly light but I won't know until I get further along with it. Since the top deck and shock tower weren't countersunk I we...

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

Diff is done and doesn't feel too bad. I used Acer 1/8 carbide balls.

Re: Transmitter Disassembly

You need a heat gun to gently remove the label, there are screws underneath. I forget what side they are on. Also, if that radio has a screen you'll need to gently remove it with a heat gun, or order a new one if it's scuffed.

Re: Transmitter Disassembly

Scratch the screen thing I've said earlier, that radio has it on the face instead of like the 3R.

You can bend another loop out of the spring.

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

We'll start by cutting off the gearbox ears since we won't be using the integrated mounts. The bottom of the gearbox has also been sanded flat so the gearbox mounts better to the chassis to reduce bind. 20230905_235710.jpg Then we'll put In some reasonably high end ceramic bearings as well as a home...
