Just measured a Ultima MK1 vs an XL, and I can confirm the XL is 13 mm longer.

260mm MK1 vs 273mm XL.

Javelin for bashing and small vintage races, but if you plan on racing it, and want to learn about how to dial it in, then the CAT. But for a novice, the Javelin is so much more precise and fun to built and drive. I would be scared to get a CAT for bashing, as you might bashing with it 2 or 3 times,...

Nice find, and yes its a Turbo Optima Mid SE with Andy's arms and bumper.

Not 100% sure, but I think The Kyosho Optima Mid SE did not come with any motors...

What an awesome thread you got there, congratulations on a super detailed build!

I have build many Mids and Optimas, but never to that level! Then again, I have never tried anodizing parts.

Lots of great tips as well.
