Re: Ultima Tires?
You can also order the wheels and tires from the Ultima rerelease. https://www.rcmart.com/kyosho-optima-50x83x36mm-block-tire-hard-2-pcs-ott244h-00083336 https://www.rcmart.com/kyosho-scorpion-2014-front-tire-medium-2-pcs-black-sct001mb-00074061 https://www.rcmart.com/kyosho-ultima-8d-50mm-front-rim...

Re: Hobbywing QuicRun 10.5 T Combo Really Slow - So Frustrated - Any Ideas?
If you're concerned about overheating, putting larger diameter tires on AND going with a bigger pinion gear will increase the chances of overheating...just saying. You're already pulling wheelies, so try reducing the punch a notch or two, and lessen the drag brake setting. I wouldn't mess around wit...

I'd be careful with the gearing. For off-road applications, that esc only looks to be rated down to 13.5 turns.

Re: Old Style Schumacher Front Wheel Bearing Size?
I think that they used a 3/8" OD bearing, which is ~9.5mm.
Depending on the wheels, you "might" be able to open them up to 10mm. I don't know about bearing availability.
Or you might can try a piece of 3/8 to 5/16 shim bushing material. 8mm and 5/16 are nearly identical.

Re: Hobbywing QuicRun 10.5 T Combo Really Slow - So Frustrated - Any Ideas?
The RC10 says 8.68:1with 10.5
So.....
If that's the case I would start with a 28 or 29 tooth pinion
76 ÷ 28 × 3.3 = 8.96 FDR
76 ÷ 29 × 3.3 = 8.65 FDR

Re: Hobbywing QuicRun 10.5 T Combo Really Slow - So Frustrated - Any Ideas?
Does the esc have timing function? Yes it does. By default it is set to 0. I have not tried to adjust the timing as I figured even at 0 it should be pretty darn quick. :? This will be your problem, there's a reason the ESC comes with the default timing set at 15 degrees. 0 degrees timing is only re...

Re: Raider "Ball Link" Broken - Replacement Options?
I was referring to the diameter of the rods. Mine were 2mm. Most commonly available ends are made to me used with 4-40 and 3mm rods.
And the original ends aren't tapped. They are just drilled a little undersized and the rods cut new threads when installed.

I know this thread is 6 years old, but I just bought this exact motor from the OP. Thought it was pretty cool.

Re: Raider and Rocky Gearbox Mod - Run Taller Gearing (bigger than a 15T Pinion)
Interesting reading, thanks for sharing I don't own a Raider, but im always interested in gearing cars correctly etc, What i dont quite understand is, I'm assuming that when they say 32 idler or 36 idler, thats effectively like a spur gear (as in the 36t or 32t gear matches up to the pinion) and if ...

Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors
I finally came up with a sacrificial dogbone to complete my drive line assembly. I also decided to swap in a spare Traxxas ESC for the testing duties. What I found out with my initial testing is: 1. This RPM meter is are constant drain on a connected battery when not in use. It's definitely a batter...

Re: Raider and Rocky Gearbox Mod - How to Run Taller Gearing (bigger than a 15T Pinion)
Thanks Cas22!! Also I know its been spoken about in here but I haven't actually seen anyone state it exactly. Can anyone confirm that when running the 32 tooth idler, that the 18 tooth pinion fits using the one of the standard motor mount holes with no modification? Cheers Also if I wanted to run s...

Re: CV Joints for Rocky
Found an easier solution for the rocky, ran the 3racing universals for the optima ( very reasonably priced) and swapped out the M10 x 5 x4 mm bearings for M10x5x3mm, gives 2mm of wiggle room and they fitted nice with some shimming. Also the Tamiya hard outdrives splines fit right up to the factory d...
