I guess it's still an RC10

Post by tizeye »

Scored this little beauty off ebay the other week for only $67...there is not much of the original RC10 left most parts have been changed....
It came with:
MIP stealth mid engine transmission
belt drive with spare belts and gears
Novak speed control
Futaba reciever
Andies a-arms
Houge trailing arm
Houge steering
Houge Chassis

I'm going to clean it up and maybe run it a few times. The local offroad track is having a big regional championship event next month so I might do a vintage demo for all the young guys so they can see where their hobby started. I might have a few issues with run time or more likely the number of laps I can do because the track is a massive 220mtrs long..or 722 feet long..
Once it's all cleaned up I will take some more pictures of it.

I love the really customized classic rc10's. It should look good once you get her all cleaned up.

:D Well I cleaned it up last night and it's come up pretty good...there was nothing broken just the front tires which had dry rot...the nylon parts that were dyed at some stage are starting to loose their color so I'm going to take her apart again and re-dye them...before I do that I'm going to give her a run..

As I told you in the other thread: it looks like some one knew what they were doing and had the money to do it. I would surely not try to undo any of it and go for a restore; this thing is unique AND well done (unlike most other 'unique builds' you see on the bay )

The only thing I've done is to change the radio over to 27 so that I can give it a run...

I agree,

Those Hyperdrive set ups aren't exactly growing on trees either...Someone actually knew what they were doing when they put it together. That car would have had big $$$ invested into it back in the day...and it looks like someone took care of it too.
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

Yep the owner/builder really looked after this car..it's had hardly any run time at all...it's showing no wear at all..
