do any of you guys still have your first r/c kit? if ya do, post them up.
here's my midnight pumpkin. i got this in early '88. it's still pretty much original, except for an esc, a joel johnson stock motor, hpi wheels, and a set of proline mashers.
it spends alot of time riding on the rear bumper with the mashers on it.
My first Frog is long gone. Here is a vintage picture of it with a rear cage I made in my high school welding shop
When I graduated high school I gave my brother several cars and trucks. I did however keep a Hilux chassis and a Tamiya Fox. The Fox eventually got sold off but the hilux chassis was transformed into this truck
I no longer have this, but I do have pics of it. It is a graphite w/ bearings that I bought in 1989. I bought it from Tower Hobbies and it showed up the non bearing version, with the box opened and an AE bearing kit (retail packaging) put in the box. Kinda weird.
It's a Juggernaut body on a Hilux chassis. I built this truck about 3 years ago. I put quite a bit of effort in it then Tamiya goes and releases the High Lift with my paint scheme no less.
BTW scr8p, the pumpkin and Lunch Box are one of my favorites. I have a few of them. Below are the built ones but I have probably enough parts and bodies for another 3 of them.
Mine was/is a Tamiya Fox. It's in the original box, looking something like Ferretti's Cheetah.
I want to put it back together, but I don't want to "restore" it. I know it needs a couple parts, but not much. I'd like to get it together to throw on the shelf in the condition I last used it in. I think it would be a cool survivor and be good for memories. It's last incarnation had an RC10 Sidewinder body on it, which I also still have.
My first kit was a Futaba FX-10, only the coolest car ever made. LOL. It's long gone though. I would like to get another someday one just for the heck of it.

That"s funny, I used to work in a hobby shop in that time... That was one of our best seller! Much like the Tamiya Striker but not the same (I think)
Hello everyone, I found this forum today and have been flooded with memories.
Here is my RC-10, I think it started as a ball bearing team car. At some point (after hacking the stock tub) I upgraded to the RPM front and rear with the double deck...

Very cool survivior from that era. they are a few really nice examples of these on the board.
I picked up a NISB B2-B3 conversion kit #9023 that I found deep within a hobby store's inventory.. (along with a pile of B2, B3, T3 parts). I couldn't find many pictures of #9023 here, but a few of #9022.
When the box says Graphite Conversion Kit...

Personally, I'd keep it a B2 if it were me. I also keep an eye out for a reasonably priced B2.
Hi all, I recently re-discovered an original RC10T kit that my uncle put together in the early 90`s. He assembled it and thats as far as he got, never ran it, never installed electronics. The kit # is 7011(if I remember correctly). Problem is though...
So does anyone know where to get a full bearing set for the 10T?? I bought a wheel bearing set recently that was too wide for the rears and would like to redo all the bushings to bearnigs. And if not a kit than bearing size/number of each size list....

Avid RC has bearings that you can buy individually. They are excellent quality too.
