Shipping small flat rate box international w/ Paypal help!?

Post by SmallScaleSmitty »

Ok, I sold some pinion gears on ebay and they sold today to someone in Australia. I had the auction setup for small flat rate box shipping for international. I go to print out the label and it only gives me choices for medium flat rate box, flat rate evelope and plain package. If I do plain package or medium flat rate, I'd be selling at a loss. Flat rate envelope is right around the same price as small flat rate box (a little less actually). I went ahead and printed it out for flat rate envelope, you think I'll catch flak from the postal service? Why is it you can setup ebay to use small flat rate, but paypal isn't? What do you think?

I believe if you had listed the shipping service "Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service" you would have had the other small box selections that you really desired. I have run into the same problem and ended up just putting a label on the box and hiking it to the post office and shipping that way. Your package if under 13 oz. will ship either International First Class mail or the small flat rate priority box. The USPS web service isn't all that would be desired.

ebay never seem to offer the cheapest option, I tried once got quoted £117 and it would have been £87 at post office, compressed it under 2Kg and less than 90cm total dimensions £29 tracked with £500 compensation :D
