Thanks Asso_man... as you can tell i'm a beginner in all this RC10ness :D

I second the request for the secret to making your 'yellowing' white parts 'white' again - also how did you sort out the rusty parts?

You're most welcome.

There is so far no magic recipe to make yellowed parts white again, this subject has been discussed so many times here that most of the members (including me) are tired with this question. The nylon is porous so it sucks all the oil, grease and small dust particles that, once inside the pores, are almost impossible to take off. On top, the white nylon tends to yellow naturally with exposure to light...

As for the rusty parts, scrub them with a metallic brush, dip them overnight in WD40, scrub again and eventually expose them a few seconds to a blue flame to get them black again.

There's no secret combo here. Basically, I used some AJAX w/ bleach dish soap. I believe it runs about a $1.80 at Walmart. I use the dish soap in combination with a toothbrush, scotch brite pad, toothpicks. I use this classic combo every time I do a re-build. My goal isnt to make my parts white, just clean. In my opinion white only exists new out of the package.

x2
There needs to be a sticky in one of these forums for frequently asked questions such as "making parts white", "the B2 cvd upgrade parts list", and "Bearings Lists".

On the hardware I used wd-40 and the scotch brite pad.
