Re: Vintage 1/8 R/C Gas Powered DYNAMIC Race Car
These are one of my favorite 1/8th scale cars. This same seller had this kit up on eBay about 3 or 4 months ago. This is the McLaren Mk8a which I think might be the best 1/8 scale kit ever sold. This is just amazing and to think it was built and sold in the very early 1970's is astonishing to me. I saved all the pictures from the auction and I believe it sold for around $1200. Enjoy.

Wow, that is one heck of a nice machine. I only wish I had one of them for the shelf.

Alright I've asked him for better pictures of the car..and since he says in his listing that he's looking for tether cars, and since I have a few I'm going to see if we can do a deal...it's a long shot but worth a crack Nigel...Nig!

Still poor quality pictures. You'd think that for such a rare car you'd at least take some decent pictures..

I wonder if wood motor mounts were the best choice of the day. This is actually the 2nd or 3rd Dynamic car I've noticed this on.

Re: Vintage 1/8 R/C Gas Powered DYNAMIC Race Car
Yeah, I have seen the wood a number of times myself.
Looks like the car has a significant amount of oxidation. That being said, I wouldn't say it's worth $1200. Tizeye, if you happen to get it, please let me know. I would love to have the opp to take some of the misc spares off your hands.

Re: Vintage 1/8 R/C Gas Powered DYNAMIC Race Car
Looks like the oxidation is on the magnesium chassis and can easily be refreshed with glass bead blasting similar to the parts on the Yok 870c bulkheads so I wouldn't think it should be too bad.
