Here's a tiny teaser for you guys before I get and post some pics of the car! I just can't wait.

ouch!I know of at least two Aussies that would donate a "leftie" for a NIB ACE
Absolutely mate - certainly one of the prettiest buggies to come out of that era. Sadly it was too little to late for PB. I never understood why they went back to a rear motor........again - three steps forward and one big step back for them.Asso_man! wrote:Well I myself almost gave a "leftie" for it, but I still think I got a good deal given the rarity of the car (I've only seen 3 PB ACE so far, none of them was as complete and mint as this one).
Pics will come as soon as I get it!
Darryn, you're right about the ACE never setting the track on fire. And even if the previous Maxima and Mini Mustang were better handling cars, the ACE is, according to me, one of the best looking buggies ever. I just love all those nicely machined and designed aluminium parts...
Check out the PB Diamond just about every part on that car was machined out of aluminium. I know it is an 1/8 nitro car and abit off topic but it was PB's final car to be released (discounting the 1/5 scales)I just love all those nicely machined and designed aluminium parts...
Certainly hope you don't include me on that list Daz..... I wouldn't give a left nose hair for an Ace. While I've been a Mini Mustang fan from day dot, the Ace never did anything for me. Even when I got parts for one, including all the alloy housings, they just looked too agricultural for me. Of course, there was the rear motor design too.... the whole car just left me cold.RETRO R/C wrote:These cars look great - definately high on the PB lovers list of wants.
While they might not have set the track on fire - they are certainly a significant parts of British R/C manufacturer history.
Great score - I know of at least two Aussies that would donate a "leftie" for a NIB ACE.
Cheers
Darryn
Being British made and of the period - you are referring to the fastenings used by the company to secure the various parts to the chassis??mrlexan wrote:PB = Wood
