So what is up with the retrofit trannys? The LHS has quite a few cases and parts for them and was wondering what the advantages they had over a stock trannys. Was thinkin about doin somethin with the Losi rollers I have but before going forward with them wanted to figure out what to do since I am Losi-challenged

Re: Retrofit tranny questions
I'm also not a Losi expert but as far as I can remember, the retro-fit tranny's are 3-gears versus the LRM 6-gear tranny's from the earlier cars/trucks. They should have a slipper already installed and it's also possible to run a Hydra-Drive as well.
I think.........

Re: Retrofit tranny questions
I believe it's a relative upgrade to buying a stealth for an six gear RC10. Retrofit Trans internals come from the XX series Losi buggy while the case is designed to mount to the chassis deck of a JRX. I also found a LHS with some of the parts. It was quite a challenge to gather the rest of the part necessary to build the trans. I still don't have 100% of the parts. Cool Losi upgrade option though.klavy69 wrote:So what is up with the retrofit trannys? Re: Retrofit tranny questions
Let me know what you are after and part numbers if possible and maybe I can help you find the rest of what you need.JPAE07 wrote: I still don't have 100% of the parts. Cool Losi upgrade option though.
Thnx for all the help guys. The part about it being like replacing a 6 gear with a stealth pretty much summed it up for me. I noticed that the 3 different type cases he has hanging on the hooks were a ton smaller than the trannys I have here but just never really put the 2 together Now off to figure out what I'm needing for the project.

Re: Retrofit tranny questions
I believe there is a "retro-fit tranny" manual on vintagelosi.com which has all the part#'s you need to complete the tranny.
