Re: rc10 aluminum wing
that's pretty trick
i was just looking to reproduce this
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2730&P=7
but how do you guys do the wire?
drill a hole and just use the buttons?
or rivet the wire to the wing?

i own this
http://www.micromark.com/18-BENDING-BRAKE,8227.html
works well for bending aluminum. i like the .032 thick aluminum, KS makes sheets
i would use buttons, riveting directly is kinda tough

Re: rc10 aluminum wing
its thorp and its riveted on.
i wouldnt recommend riveting on, the peices the hold the wire and pretty small, its gonna be hard to drill straight and then rivet on. im not knocking your skills, hell you could have access for a full CNC machine for all i know.. but i tryed it by hand in the past, and it turned out like crap lol.

Shodog has some Tecnacraft wings on a few of his builds, search them out, the cars are fantastic and well worth the effort to search them out . I have been collecting up the parts to tackle wings also . Would love to see pictures of really cool wing styles. I have a few ideas for bi-levels also. let me know how you make out !

Wasn't liquorboxracing on here making his own and selling a bunch of different styles? IIRC, they were all really nice looking aluminum wings on all of his Scorpions and Kyosho projects.

Re: rc10 aluminum wing
OK , so i got messing about and managed to bang out a prototype wing based on a few pictures I found on this forum , One thing is for certain, it looks way easier than it truly is, mind you , other than a corded drill i did everything by hand, I didn't really pay attention to the finish , i was more or less interested in the proportions.
Now this is the funny part , 1.76 OZ wing alone and 2.15 with all hardware , lol ! !00% BLING , and i am ok with that
Love to see your attempts , comments ?
Paul
