AYK Radiant
Another car that I've had for a while now, just finally getting some pics done. One of my fav's.
I went through this car to replace the bushings with bearings. The wheel bushings in it are incredibly sloppy, but not any more. The diff bearing I found was an oddball size. Found Duratrax made them ($1 a piece). Tore it apart last night to swap them out only to find it is already equipped with bearings. The manual made it seem it wasn't.
I am very impressed with the build quality of this car. The drivetrain when the chain is adjusted correctly is incredibly efficient!
I have the box, manual, body, driver, and stock speedo. I will install all of that stuff when I get a couple S148's to plop in it. I am torn on how to paint the body. I don't really like the 2 shades of brown they painted in the boxart, so I will most likely do a similar scheme, just change the colors slightly.
I am missing the gearcover. Anybody here help me out with that part (RZ-15)?
Enjoy!

Re: AYK Radiant
VERY nice Brandon. The Radiant is such a cool car - and shows that a chain drive can most definately be efficient.
Did you get my PM?
Cheers

Re: AYK Radiant
Cool! The Radiant is an awesome car, the only negative thing I can find is the plastic that makes the front gear box and tranny rear bearing holder is a bit soft. Other than that it's a great looking car... I whish I coud find parts to convert mine to belt drive though...

Re: AYK Radiant
Give me a week and you can experiment with as many paint schemes as you like. Nicely done BTW!
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: AYK Radiant
Are you reprocucing the gearcovers in white or clear?
Do you have repro decals as well? Do you need a sheet to make copies of?

Re: AYK Radiant
decal sheet above doesn't look like it'll cover all those stickers on the Print Ad paintjob
eg:
86
CIBIE
blue Radio Control Racing Team
white MAGNUM
red POLE POSITION
all the white AYKs
white GS1200
