Bearrickster's Jrx Proformance car

Post by bearrickster »

this is for vintage Racer here are the pic's of my car you asked for. I bought this car back in 1988 or 89. I have almost completely restored it. I got this body on a fluke, I bought it as a pro and was pleased to fine it was the Proformance kit body. I was only mad I didnt make a mould of it before I cut it.

I use to race it in Pavement oval, then back to dirt. when I bought a RC10L. I havent ran it for a long time. My daughter ran it into a curb and broke the chassis in half. it took me ten years to find a new one. now I have spent so much time and money restoring it I havent even finished it? I will run it again someday, but I wont be beating it up like I use to. I have replaced most of the running dutys with a great Pro se. its so much more advanced than this one.

Looks very nice Rick!

Dare I ask what the difference is between the Pro performance kit body and the Pro?

the rear are JDS, the fronts were just sitting in the show case at a hobby shop I worked at in 1989. they didnt know who made them,or what they fit. so they gave them to me. so I dont know what brand, but they do have FX10 front tires on them. its all I could find to fit. I would like to find another new set of tires.

Was it the pro-formance kit or the Jrx-pro that used the spacer behind the rear shock tower?

Yes this kit came before the pro, it was an upgrade of the Jrx2 to make it a Pro. so all of the JRX cars after used it except the Junior's they had it moulded in to the plastic towers.

this car has had a full life, it started life as a Jrx2 raced heavly then the proformance kit was added. then it was turned into a pavement racer with a JG lowering kit were it ran a dirt wedge body. thats when I bought it. since I have had it it spent time as a parking lot racer, with a Parma 50 merc painted to match the one in the movie Cobra. spent a lot of time as a JrxT, then back to a buggy and a lot of time as an off road VW bug. untill 96 when my daughter ran it into a curb and broke it in half. it sat in a box for almost 10 years untill I found a new chassis in about 06. since I have been on here and Ebay I have found more and more parts so it is now restored to like new. but I am getting redy to rip it apart and put it back together in as raced form like I had it. I am just waiting on MR Lexan to redo the Proline Bug body I ran.

here is what it looked like back when I ran it with a Jrx2 chassis, its all I could find.
